Philosophy of Education

While many people know what they want to do when they get older, I had no clue as to what I wanted to do after I graduated. Right before my graduation, my high school guidance counselor came up to me and asked if I would be interested in tutoring over the summer to make some money for school. Well I figured I'd give it a shot just to see what it was like, and from this came one of the greatest joys of my life.

When I walked in the classroom to tutor the children their faces lit up when they saw some one really cared and wanted to help them. At the end of the day when I would go home I could picture their faces and it would bring me so much joy. It's a truly amazing feeling to be sitting there knowing you made a difference in someone else's life. When it was time to start college though I thought I wanted to be a business major. Then one day when I was running around I saw one of those children I had tutored, he came up to me and asked me if I was going to be his teaches someday, and at the moment in time it hit me that I wanted to be a teacher.

When I get my own classroom, I am going to have two different sections of seat in rows of three or four facing each on different sides of the classroom. My desk will be in the front and center of the classroom primarily so I can see everything. There will be a blackboard behind my desk, this is so everyone will have a good view of it.
