My Philosophy
Why do children turn out the way that they do? Do the decisions we make as teachers have a big impact on our students? Consideration needs to be given to these issues as we enter classrooms. The children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, all children need a structured education to help them learn their responsibilities in life. Children need to stay active in the classroom and be aware of the importance of their education.
Students of the elementary age have various characteristics. They have curiosity flowing and their minds are active. Children want to understand what is happening around them. Students have a wide imagination, which allows them to be creative and unique. Children respect their teachers and imitate their actions because they look up to their teachers as role models. Students are dependent, therefore needing attention and assistance.
The nature of knowledge is relative. Each individual learns differently. Teachers need to use different strategies for everyone to learn the same area of curriculum. Everyone has a distinct personality that allows him or her to learn differently. Some areas come easier to individuals than other areas. Each person’s ability to learn something is dependent upon his or her environment around them. For example, if someone isn’t provided with the proper tools for the area of study, they will not be able to learn it. The use of different techniques will allow each individual to use their constructive intelligence.
The purpose of education is to help individuals to learn about their world, morals, and the values of their country that will help guide them through their society. Education is a very important aspect in today’s world. Education allows each individual to succeed in life and to inspire knowledge that will be passed on to younger generations. As a teacher, I hope to provide the best education possible for my students. I plan to inspire each individual in a way that will help them in life.
Gossip can be a form of either informal or conversational talk that is not usually planned but happens spontaneously in conversation (Tholander, 2003). Gossip is a distinct and unusual form of storytelling as it involves a non-present third person. In order for a story to be considered as gossip it must handle a past event of which the absent third party was involved in. It often occurs within friendships,
Selfish people place their own wants, needs, and happiness before anything or anyone else. Furthermore, they feel no obligation to help others. Because selfish people do not value others, they often live a lonely life full of unhappiness. Also, when people are selfish, they do not remain happy

Since the end of the Korean War, the United States has enacted policies to isolate and undermine the Kim Dynasty in North Korea. A key development took place in the past several decades where North Korea broke away from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to develop their own nuclear weapons and while lacking launch capabilities, they have been successful in their development. During this process, the United States took active policies to deter the North Koreans in pursuit of their goals. It is easy to assume that the United States took this stance in order to maintain a military edge in the region. But under closer examination, this neo-realist perspective does not explain why the United States pursued this policy. In reality, North Korea to this day does not pose a significant military threat, even with limited nuclear capabilities. A constructivist perspective is more able to explain US policy in this instance because it does not focus on sheer militaristic power. It takes into consideration the state's identities which drives their interests. The identities of the US and North Korea and the interactions between them drove both nations to the point of acquiring and deterring nuclear use.
On an evolutionary perspective, gossip was developed as a way of maintaining social relationships. Itself, it serves a form of ‘verbal grooming’ which may be similar to ‘social grooming’ (Hummel, 2009) seen in primates. In depth, primates were seen to have groomed other primates ‘far beyond necessity’ (A. Hummel) which would suggest that grooming is a very important aspect of socializing and building bonds in primate life. As humans, gossip facilitates the need for social maintenance. A widely accepted myth that we all might hear everyday or might even think we experience is women do all the talking. In different languages around the world, there are many different sayings that say women talk too much. Myth 6, “Women Talk Too Much”, by Janet Holmes addresses the question if women are the ones who take up all the talking time or is this just a myth? I will address the main ideas and my reaction about Myth 6.
Selfishness is the key to happiness, according to Browne. Most of the population believes that putting others before oneself is key to happiness. Browne calls this the “unselfishness trap”. People are told and led to believe that they must sacrifice their own happiness for others, to be “good” and be “truly happy”. In his example, Browne sees happiness as a ball, and when a person holds the ball in their hand, they get to be happy. If everyone is selfless, then everyone would pass the ball off to the next person, believing that it is the best thing to do. The ball would keep going around and around because everyone is willing to give up their own happiness. In the end, everybody loses. Nobody gets to be happy. “How it would be a better world if everyone acted this way”. Happiness comes in different shapes and sizes. What makes him happy doesn’t necessarily make her happy. I would encourage each student that they are capable of whatever they desire, whether to grow up to be the first woman president, an astronaut, fireman, or a cashier; along with those dreams they must know that all of their dreams start in the classroom with their education. I will also teach them that whatever they desire in their future, to be the best they can be.
Several definitions have risen for ‘gossip’ based on the existing literature. While the definition of “idle chatter” or “the evil tongue” (Schein, 1994) has been given previously, nowadays, gossip is defined as “information about the behavior and personal lives of other people” particularly about one who is not present in the conversation (Eder & Enke, 1991). This information exchange is found to take place mainly in informal conversations (Noon & Delbridge, 1993; Kurland & Pelled, 2000). The definition can also take a more functional perspective, deeming it as a tool for socializing and gaining a sense of belonging or acceptance in a community or network circle. This happens also because gossip initiates discussion and draws in and consolidates the opinion of members of the circle, thus encouraging a more agreeable and friendly relationship among them (Eckert, 1993).
Successful teachers develop the whole child by making integrated efforts to promote their student’s academic, social and emotional learning. Children need to be aware of themselves and others; make responsible decisions, and be ethical and respectful of the people around them.
Education is a very important aspect of our lives. It is our education that makes us who we are and determines what we become. Therefore, education is not something to be taken lightly. As a teacher, my goal will be to provide the best possible education for my students. Every student is unique. I must see students for who they are individually and respect their ideas and opinions. Each student has a different learning style. I must take this into consideration because I want to provide a constructive learning opportunity for every student. I believe that every student has the potential to learn.
At times, gossip can even be noted as a healthy social activity. Gossipers are portrayed as the gatekeepers of information, choosing to relay or hold on to information about others. As a result, these social savvy individuals are gaining power by using the weapon of speech to hinder and alter the social reputations of others. Individuals around any person that has gained power by gossip will defecate in influencing others to gossip as well. If sixty-five percent of our time speaking accounts to gossip, then that only leaves us with the rest of the twenty-five percent of a conversation not being related to anyone you know. My friends and I recently conducted a small experiment where none of us were allowed to gossip for at least 24 hours. The first couple of hours were fairly easy due to the fact that I was alone but, as soon as my friends and I got together, it took an immense amount of effort to stray away from talking about other people. That just goes to show that those sixty-five percent of the things you would have conversed would go unsaid, therefore, overall, us humans would be much quieter and
...child needs and deserves a secure, caring, and inspiring environment in which to blossom and flourish emotionally, intellectually, socially, and physically. It is my desire as an educator to provide my students with the learning environment necessary to motivate and inspire each and every one of them to become to their fullest potential. For myself, teaching is about giving; giving the students support and security, giving them respect and dignity, giving them opportunities to succeed and a quality education, and not only giving them my time and effort but also giving myself. Our society requires its children to not only receive a solid education, but that they are taught by a highly qualified educator who is sensitive to their individual needs and deeply committed to their success. I am such a person and will always strive to do the very best by my students.
The purpose of education is for a student to develop character, mental abilities, and physical abilities. This is why school and education are so important, because without these skills one cannot live up to his/her full potential or even function in society. My purpose as a teacher is to give students opportunities to succeed and not to give grades. My purposes are to make students aware of their capabilities and by discovering these capabilities develop a sense of self. The students do this by pushing themselves or trying to their fullest extent. By trying his/her hardest they will know their limitations. These areas are the purpose of education.
The purpose of education is to teach the basics of knowledge and to challenge each individual to learn. The realization that I will have the power to make a difference in a child’s life is sometimes overwhelming. This remarkable fact gives me a stronger purpose – to be a positive role model for my students. Being an effective teacher is truly an awesome responsibility.
