I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me.
This means that I learn best through listening; therefore this is where I like to focus my attention during a lesson. Secondly, I pride myself on honesty, especially academic honesty. I believe that there is no gain in regards to taking credit for someone else’s work, only a disappointing loss. Lastly, task orientation is a key component in my success. Without it, personal learning would not occur and progression would not exist.
I have found that the three most effective success strategies I can use for years to come are being a critical thinker, improving concentration, and being an active listener. All three of these strategies are very practical and relevant to both my educational and professional pursuits, and therefore have proven to be the most effective in regards to my Personal Philosophy of Success.
This is why it is important to have a set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it into the honor society while earning my degree(academic), and I want to earn my degree in order to contribute to Autism research(professional). All of these goals range in the amount of time it will take to accomplish them. Some are long term, but I can still use the SMART goal process in order to achieve them.

Applying the philosophy that I cannot ask someone to do something that I would not be willing to do, is my simple philosophy of following. Being open minded as a follower allows me to accept change and deal with it in a professional manner. Having a positive attitude, and recognizing my peers for a job well done shows my appreciation for their hard work and collaboration. As a follower I intend to be the first to volunteer for a new project, the last to take praise for a team accomplishment. As a follower I question the status quo, but only when I have a new idea to present.

Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
I have always had a drive to be successful in all I do. I am confident that this skill will carry over to my role as a leader. The one area I will need to work on is being directive when necessary. I am not always good at being direct and want to protect others feelings.
