The lights above the patient’s door rings as they wait for the nurse to come and answer to their needs. When considering a career in nursing, a person must carefully look into the responsibilities that this will entail, the skills one needs to succeed, plus other important traits such as working conditions, salary, and the future of the job; however just as important is to seek out the University of Texas at Brownsville that will best prepare me for this profession. The tasks and responsibilities of a nurse are a bit of common sense and a bit of learned steps that nurses need to follow. There are many places within the university that are accredited by many agencies. The hispanic serving institution is accredited by the southern association of college at schools. The teacher preparation program is accredited by the texas education agency.
Now that we have gone over the whole college area, we have to cover the career portion of the topic. Now, with a career comes a degree plan. I plan on becoming something in the nursing profession. To start off with in nursing you have to have an associates degree and after that, depending on the specific job you want to do, you need a specific degree. The associates takes roughly 2 years to get. then comes the bachelors degree which takes around 4 years to accomplish. If you want to be the one with the best degree, it would be a master’s degree that would take you 6-8 years to obtain.
The nursing is a program that produces high quality nurses that should know how to do other skills that were mentioned earlier in the paper. The nursing program in UTB requires you to have an associates degree if you want to become an RN( registered nurse). Anything else just requires you to be in that nursing program to become a regular nurse. The nursing program is very limited when it comes to the students they accept.
