My Motivation Letter
The CERN Selection Committee,
Dear Sir or Madam,
Sometimes one comes across an event which tends to produce an ineffable effect on one's life. A Science Documentary titled "From Planck length to the observable universe" forced me to read agape about Albert Einstein’s revolutionary vision of "Matter and Space-time" and reconstructing a "detailed, modified theory of Motion and Gravity". Its consequences, the "Cosmological Constant, Dark Matter, Dark Energy and theory of Everything" has, thus, impelled me towards a research oriented career in Reality, Particle Physics and Cosmology, in the hope of someday to explain the unknown parameters of the Universe and contributing for Defining a Single Supreme Force.
In today's world, where efficiency is of the essence and nothing is of as much import as saving time and money, artificial machines perform various complex tasks swiftly and reliably, which humans are ill-suited to. Complex Theoretical problems are, however, human dependent and not failsafe. Thus, the study of The Universe (From the Quantum Foam to the size of a Galaxy!), in order to explore it and finding the Ultimate Theory, is of paramount importance.
Starting my quest from a small city in Pakistan, as a child trying my supreme best to gather every single inch of Knowledge and believing in my efforts while keeping in mind the Principle of Causality (Cause/Efforts must lead to an Effect/Reward) has ended me with and ERASMUS Mundus scholarship in one of the best Physics Institute of the world, The University of Amsterdam to start a life in Particle Physics.
PaP Particle and Astroparticle Physics (M.Sc.) offered by the University of Amsterdam "prepares researchers for excellent independent research or a contri...

...ere is a lot of talent hidden in the youth of developing countries and without such opportunities (like
CERN summer programme), it would remain hidden forever. I wish to be a part of this wonderful experience.
Being an enthusiastic student who likes to take up challenges, CERN summer programme is an optimum choice as it will equip me with the right skill sets to step into the uncertain and exciting domain of The sub atomic world. Getting accepted will provide me with the perfect opportunity to convert Passion into Profession and hesitation into Perfection. It will provide me with the incentive, experience and proficiency to develop myself into a successful proponent of a subject which has abundant potential.
And yes of course, uploading a profile picture standing next to the Giant Accelerator is also “of course the coolest thing to do”
Yours Sincerely,
Kamal, Shahzeb
