MY LONG AND SHORT TERM GOALS
My Long and Short Term Goals
One of my Educational & Professional long term goals includes: 1. graduating with high honors with my Bachelor’s Degree (to continue on to higher education degrees). 2. As well as, having my own Art Gallery. To help me achieve these Academic long-term goals, there are three essential short term goals that must be met: 1. Effective & timely studying, 2. A Regular Exercise Routine & Diet, 3. And Financial stability. In addition, three short term goals that will help me to achieve my Career long-term goals include: 1. efficient productivity, 2, financial stability, 3. & successful networking.
However, since for every yin there is a yang obstacle, diligence is needed to maintain a balance structure in order to attain these goals. Thus, a vital obstacle that might keep me from reaching my goals includes: Financial instability. To help stabilize the financial need, I can reduce or prevent this obstacle by: 1. budgeting, 2. as well as finding a part-time job, 3. And trying to get help to finance my artworks.

After having lost my part-time job, my alarm on my phone is set for 8am each morning to the EWTN Prayer Channel. I wake up and start the day listening to the morning prayers meditation, which helps me to be motivated and inspired throughout the day. Short-term goals are something that can be achieved in less than a year and long-term goals are anywhere from two to five years or something that will make a career last a long time (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Having goals set and using the virtue ethics theory can help with the decision-making process and boost ones character. Short-Term Goals for Virtue Ethics A short-term goal is something that progresses in a short-time frame and can lead to a successful long-term goal (Merriam-Webster, 2014).
Life has no meaning without goals. In order to succeed setting goal is very important. Without setting goals there would be nothing to look forward to, or even have anything to achieve. Goals are a vital aspect of our lives. It gives a sense of self-confidence. I believe without goals life would just be a plain and no excitement at all. Long-term and short-term goals are intertwined and work similarly to build a house from ground up. I vision myself become a radiologist within the next three to five years. This is my present long-term goal. To achieve my long term goal I have two short term goals, first to get good grades in prerequisites courses and second to complete my grad school program with "A" grade minimum, because graduating with good grades is the stepping stone for my long-term goal.
My second long-term goal is to think about retirement and beyond. I have been blessed with such an amazing career. I would like to be able to retire from work and spend time with my wife and future grandchildren. I would like to be financially secure and healthy enough to continue helping others.
My short term goals academically is to pass all my classes this first semester, and my short term goal professionally is to just continue with my current job of working at target. I work at target 5 days a week and about 35 hours a week. My long term goals academically are to major in criminal justice, and my long term goal professionally is to become a DEA agent.
Everyone has a goal when they realized something needs to be done in a certain amount of times. People set goals to meet their expectations and effectiveness on their journey with no hesitation. Every sets of goal have a limit, and it follow the deadline on how we set our goal. A set of goal is a dream that we built to become reality or sometime it can be a total failure. Setting a goal isn’t enough for individual and should not be.
My career goal is to own a child care center. My personal goals are to get married and have children. Also, I want to live nearby my parents because I’m the only child in my family. 5. Ever since I was little, I have always had very high career goals for myself. My short-term goal was to work hard throughout high school in order to be accepted to a university, which I accomplished by graduating with a 4.0 grade point average. My next step was to do well my freshman year of college at Eastern Michigan University in order to be accepted into their nursing program that is very competitive. I finished my first year of college with a 4.0 grade point average and was accepted into the nursing program. Now that I am in the program, my goal is to continue to do well in my studies by focusing on my courses and spending as much times as possible studying. I ended my first semester of nursing school with all As and one A- giving me an accumulative GPA of 3.98. I would like to graduate at the top of my nursing class, and I believe this is an achievable goal because I am a very driven and hard working person. When I want to achieve something I will do whatever it takes to do so.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
Goal setting is key in motivation; goals need to be clear, sharp, and realistic. To make these feel more achievable it is better to break these down into smaller medium-term goals and medium-term goals into short-term goals so that you have a clear connection between what one does every day and their long-term goals.
When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.
Once you set your goal, you need to start getting more specific. It moves from a dream into reality. Make a plan, it must move from your mind to a piece of paper. Write down the things that you need to do. What do you want to achieve? What will be your life when you achieve your goal? Things that you need to be done. Things that you want to learn more about your goal. Qualities that you admire in others. Improves the qualities you have. Habits that you want to stop and habits that you want to improve.
Goals are an important part of life. For me, they provide direction, stability, and motivation. I have always been keen to setting goals in my life, long-term and short-term. There have been times where I simply gave up on setting goals because when they would turn out different than I had expected I became a little discouraged. As I have aged a bit more, I acknowledge and understand that this is part of the goal setting/planning and action process. Lately, I have pushed some more short-term goals aside simply because of time restraints, and tiredness. However, I want to make some changes not only for myself, but also for my family. In this paper I will present two objectives and three tasks associated with meeting those objectives. I will do these objectives and tasks for two weeks. Finally, I will measure the success and the outcome from these objectives and tasks at the end.
Growing up, goals change dramatically. A five-year olds goal is to get the coloring page done. As people go through school, goals obviously change. A freshman’s goal may be to learn the school so he or she doesn’t get lost. Senior’s goals grow to finding where they will spend the next four years or what kind of career they will grow upon. Then, of course goals continue to change as people get older and enter into different stages of life. In this essay, I am going to talk about how my goals in different aspects of my life and how they have transformed, what they are currently, and what they may turn into in the future.
