“For I know the plans I have for you declares the lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 from the bible) Since day one of my life, my faith is what gets me through each day. I centered my graduation project on something I care most about because I was involved with my church since I was born. Through activities like a spaghetti dinner in February, Easter fellowship the Saturday of Easter, vacation bible school during the summer, youth babysitting during Christmas, and Christmas caroling these are just a few things I participate in at my church.
The first thing I used in my graduation project was the annual spaghetti dinner the path youth does in February around valentines. I help do things the day before the actual dinner by setting tables up, getting the gymnasium decorated, help prepare food, make the directional sign for where people should go and park, etc… Then the day of I help set the salad out on the salad tables, finish decorating, wrap silverware in napkins, and serve the people when the dinner starts. After the dinner is done I help teardown and cleanup the gymnasium because after everything is put away and the wet mopping is dry on the floor the youth help set up for the 8:45 service the next morning. This dinner takes a lot of time but in the end it is all worth doing.
Then I go right into helping out with the Easter fellowship the church has for the younger kids every year. Each year I try to help set up but I’m usually at a church service during set-up. The actual day I help by sitting at one of the craft tables and making sure the kids have everything they need to do the craft and explain how to do the craft to them. Also there is an Easter egg...

In the end my year has always been a rewarding year because of all the things I do in my church. I do not ask for recognition on the extra things I do besides the things I mention but sometimes something would be said during the service’s praises. I would be blessed because I took time to do everything I do because I want to let the people know I like doing the things the church has to offer that is why I volunteer my time and talents. Through activities like a spaghetti dinner in February, Easter fellowship the Saturday of Easter, vacation bible school during the summer, youth babysitting during Christmas, and Christmas caroling these are just a few things I participate in at my church. This is why I chose to center my graduation project around my church life because i am so involved in the church I go to.

...e to be under the influence of some people who have helped me become the person in Christ that I am now and they have allowed me to grow into that. I appreciate so deeply those people. I think that if they would have pushed me there or pushed me too quickly I feel like there is definitely some things I would have missed, some things I wouldn't have understood. I have recently, within the last year, been searching to be in a new level with God and not allow myself to become to complacent in my spot. I don't want to be someone who gets to some ideal spot then just sits there. I truly hope that by the end of this semester even that there could be a new and different story to this walk in my life. I have been so honored in the ways that God has used me in the last 23 years and I hope that that never changes! All glory to HIM for my life and anyone else's who lives.
Why I Left the Church” by Richard Garcia is a poem that explores the ongoing and conflicting relationship between a child’s fantasy and the Church. Although the majority of the text is told in present tense, readers are put through the lenses of a young boy who contemplates the legitimacy of the restricting and constricting nature of worship. It is a narrative that mixes a realist approach of storytelling with a fantasy twist that goes from literal metaphors to figurative metaphors in the description of why the narrator left the church. The poet presents the issue of childhood innocence and preset mindsets created by the Church using strong metaphors and imagery that appeal to all the senses.

Later that year, I was accepted into Spanish Honors Society, a volunteer based program to help out the Spanish communities near my school along with volunteering to help raise money for organizations that help less developed countries. One particular project that I helped raise money for through Spanish Honors Society, was Project Running Waters. The money raised for this event was donated to help people living in Guatemala receive fresh water through pipe systems that would be built. We raised over one thousand dollars to donate to this cause. Knowing that I can positively impact individuals in my community and in other countries makes me feel like I have grown maturely and am able to understand what needs to be done to make a difference to
Mary I have grown academically. Students come to school and learn so much. We learn skills and lessons that prepare us not only for high school or college but for the rest of our lives. We learn all these things from our teachers. Our teachers care about each one of us and want us to do well. They work very hard so that we can have the education we do. They also strive to be good role models for their students. They set a good example and teach us good values. We are taught how to treat people with love and respect. What's so amazing is that not only are we taught these values but you can see the students acting on these values everyday. For example, when we went to the Camp Duncan retreat we participated in some activities that taught us some about what it means to be Christian and how we should build each other up instead of tearing people down. After these activities you could see everyone being really nice to eachother, people talking to people they usually don’t, and just using what we had learned that day. Philosophy of Ministry: God's desires come first, I must always live my ministry God's way. I must live as a Christian (1 Corinthians 9:27) I must have a proper relationship of surrender to the Leader. In my personal life or in the Church I must understand that Christ is Head and Chief Shepherd (Ephesians 1:22, Hebrews 13:20). The “management” of Church is about relationships with God and Man, not just maintaining a social organization.
Everyone has their own unique life experiences, and it is inevitable that every personal life is connected to communal life which refers to history. My father, Kisoo Yoon also has unique life experiences, going through the history of World War 2 and Korean War. He was born in 1929 in Pyongyang, the capital city now of North Korea, raised in his grandmother’s Methodist tradition. When he was 22 year old, his pastor died a martyr to his faith because of persecution by the army of North Korea during Korean War. The pastor asked my father heartily to go to South Korea and become a pastor before he died. The pastor wanted my father to work continually for the Kingdom of God. My father left his hometown, but
Another accomplishment that stood out to me was the founding and development of my Berks County Chemistry Outreach Club. Recruiting and managing my club members during freshman year was especially challenging. I remember struggling to create short and simple lesson plans, while keeping the students engaged and active. I recall students having difficulties with the concepts and theories. To help them review the material, I posted the meeting summaries on my website. My favorite service project was my silver award for girl scouts. Before Jamie Lince, Faith Brown, and I did the silver award the hoophouse by the elementary school was very rundown. There were holes in the plastic, weeds in the beds, and the wood chips in the aisles were worn down. The hoophouse couldn’t be used. We wanted to fix that problem. First we applied for grants. I never knew how many steps or how much time this would take. It really taught me how to handle deadlines so things get turned in on time. It also taught me that there are people that want to support you, and you just need to find them. The two grants that we received were a Lowes grant for fifteen-hundred dollars and a seed grant from Van Atta’s. The second step was to get people to help weed out the beds so we could plant the seeds we got from the grant. This took a few hours and a lot of people from the community showed up to help. The Lowes grant was used for the plastic that goes on the outside of the hoophouse and new wood chips for the aisles in the hoophouse. We had to have the help of Mr. Montry who makes hoop house...
As my friend Jenni and I entered the hall of the big church, a feeling of apprehension overwhelmed us. Our feelings were soon comforted when we entered a sea of smiling faces and outstretched hands. A sense of belonging engulfed us. Ms. Shirley, an older colored woman was first to extend her arms. She did not know us from Adam, but it did not matter. She threw her arms around us. "You girls have the prettiest smiles", she declared. "I am so glad you came to be with us this morning." Words can not describe what the act of kindness did to our feelings of apprehension, and that was just the beginning.
The impact of my contributions in a servant leadership role, will show the results of me standing on my personal faith and beliefs. My convictions are very strong. I want my students to have just as faith in me as they do in themselves. The impact of courage, hopefully teaches them to have integrity and humility.
The Orthodox Christian Church holds true to the teachings of Christ as given by Him to His apostles. The Orthodox Christian Church is universal and Orthodox Christians have a faith and doctrine of Jesus Christ Our Lord as Head of the Church.
Christianity is pretty simple its all about one life, the life of Jesus the Son of God. The christian life is a life that consists of following Jesus, all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and give your life to him. Becoming a christian offers eternal life after earth, it gives you greater ethics, support through out life, and a life after death. Becoming a christian relies on constant progression, its not enough to be a christian in name you have to live the Christian lifestyle. As a christian you will learn to strive for better morals. Your goals as christian need to be how do I become a better Christian and be more like God.
The purpose of this paper is to discuss a service that I got to attend that was different from my own religious tradition. I decided to go with my chosen topic because to be honest I had never experienced or thought to experience a different type of church service other than the one I grew up in. I grew up in a Christian home and attended a non-denominational Christian church on a regular basis. I just never felt the need to experience something that was different. So I decided to attend a mass at a Catholic church. I had been to weddings in a Catholic church and even funerals with a Catholic involvement but not an actual mass.
All of the experiences I had up until this date have made into the person I am today. I am very good at appearing confident, and in some area of life I am. I have extreme compassion for those who cannot help themselves and those that struggle to fit in. By finishing my degree in Human Services I will be able to do just that, and in the meantime find peace and move on from own
