There are two types of people who attain success in Life. Some achieve their goals in a single shot and some achieve with experiences of their past. The mindset of the person who achieves success with experiences is strong. I am the one who was successful with my experiences. My experiences at the boarding school have taught me what a student should do in order to get success. It is always tough for a student to concentrate on studies if he is staying away from home. The one who overcomes those distractions and disturbances will always get success in life. One has to prioritize their needs in life in order to achieve their goals. I should say that my experiences during my Bachelor’s Degree were a turning point of my life. Rolling back my memories, …show more content…
I understood that life isn’t about living to the fullest at every instance, but it’s all about planning our future and stepping on right stones at the right point of time. I understood that to achieve something bigger, one has to dream big and start working towards the goal. I was living a life with no goals till that point of time. I was just fooling around my life by playing a sport and visiting tourism attractions. But that just alone is not life, definitely not. So I realized my flaws and started taking my life seriously by fixing a goal in my mind. From that point of time I never took my goals so lightly. I started attending all the lectures without fail. I took my Professors help to cover up the classes that I missed. I never missed a class during my third year and the final year of my Bachelors. I had completed my under graduation in the year 2013 with an overall grade in first class and some honors adding the achiever’s feeling. Later on I strived day and night to clear few competency tests in order to pursue my graduation in the United States and managed to get a seat in a reputed college. Right now I am pursuing my graduation and still working on my goal which is to pass this graduation with distinction. All these days I only believed in only one axiom “The three great essentials to achieve worthwhile are: Hard work, Stick-to-itiveness and Common sense”. If one believes in this trio then success will be at their
There are few decisions in life that will affect you as profoundly as the decision to seek higher education. The degree you earn is both a ticket to personal and professional fulfillment and a badge representing hard work and dedication. The world is built by people who have trusted to their own unshaken will in hope and in despair. Those are the heroes, the idealists who amidst the gulf of solitude more isolating than that, which surrounds a dying man, could think great about their future. Their lives foment many spirited acolytes for whom destiny is no matter, a chance, but a matter of choice and it is nothing to be waited for, but a thing to be achieved. I wish to place as one among them.
While everybody is ready for graduation, something didn’t feel right to me. I didn’t feel like I had accomplished anything. I wasn’t accepted into any colleges like everyone else, and that’s because I didn’t even apply. I wasn’t prepared for anything, let alone college. I’m not in high school anymore. It was a game to me and I finally ran out of lives. There’s not as many chances outside of high school. I’ve come to the realization that I need to listen to my counselor and get it together and be more like my best friends and work towards a goal until I accomplish it. I needed to change my and realize that my past doesn’t have to determine my future. I wanted to grasp the concept of, “it’s never to late.” I desired to become a better version of myself. I craved to the idea of a positive purpose in life. I wanted to earn the respect and admiration of others. I wanted to be better. At last, my mind is exactly where it’s suppose to be, and I have come to the recognition that all I need it just one more
The article “How to Be a Success” by Malcom Gladwell speaks about how success is something that can be achieved if you put the time and work into it, and how success is not achieved overnight but rather through long hours of constant practice. His article is targeted to more than one group of individuals. The groups of individuals that his article targets are teenage students, young adults, adults, people who want to become an expert, or want to succeed in something they have an interest in and in general society. Another article also related to the success of an individual “An A+ Student Regrets His Grades” by Afraj Gill describes how in society many schools focus more on students’ grades, rather than their learning, and how a student is
I encourage you to always stay determined and focused on anything you do so you can not just succeed but you can over-achieve. Without exception you need to stay open-minded and be careful of your actions cause everything you do can affect your legacy. A quote from Swami Sivananda states “Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret to success.” This quote influences me because it's stating that just try your best in everything you do and you will succeed, not just your goals but in life as well.
It was the fourth year of my school carrier. In other words, the year of truth if I would make the cut to the higher education track. I was nervous because I knew that I would be capable of going this route, but I the feeling of concern was stronger because I haven’t had performed very well in my fourth year so far. At the end of the school year, I received the shocking news that I didn’t make the cut to go to the school which would have had allowed me to go to University later on in my life. I was sad, disappoint in myself, and lost self-esteem in my educational abilities. At this time, I was more embarrassed then able to realize the real benefit of a system which early on tracks children’s
“Success is whatever each person defines it to be for himself or herself (Womack, C.D. 2003,10 page 46).” Learning is a never ending cycle; rather through formal or informal training. People need to be prepared to learn in order to be successful both in education and their career. Educational goals combined with personal learning styles, appropriate resources, a proper writing process and academic integrity leads to academic success.
Believing that hard work pays off in the end is more than an idea to motivate an individual, it is the difference between the ability to strive for success or the breaking point for an individual who believes in “I can’t.” An individual who has the desire for success and believes he or she can achieve anything has the ability to go far. Success for college and beyond is established through the vital skills of motivation, responsibility, and strength. To master all three items is to find success.
As a young lady, I have been able to develop and procure the benefits of an outstanding education through various situations in my day to day life, both as an intern and as an undergraduate student at Fordham University. Throughout my experiences, I have taken advantage of many learning opportunities. Regardless of any environment, I have the ability to learn and develop as a person. I believe it is my strength to keep going and never give up that has led me to be very well-defined and the changes I undergo every day that passes will lead me to ultimate success. Ever since I was a kid, I have always wanted to accomplish something for myself, my future and change my life forever. I always believed that setting goals and pushing myself towards
All of my flaws and failures have contributed towards my learning experience. It has taught me the importance of accountability, work-life balance, and perseverance through hardships. By ending my bachelor academic career with high praise, I have adapted to these conditions and believe in my potential to reach my academic and life goals. I was able to maintain two jobs and succeed in my classes when taking additional courses to prove to myself I am worth a candidate to be in a physical therapy program. My conviction is that failure is more beneficial than success in fostering growth; There is more to learn in one’s mistakes because as you correct them, you improve upon your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These skills carry more weight than a high GPA in my opinion because not only are they practical, they are translatable across every professional discipline and part of
To give my personal philosophy of success I would first have to define “success”. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. My success philosophy that I plan on implementing from now on is accepting personal responsibility for the good and bad choices I make. There will be time when I need to focus on school and worry less about my free time. If I have a test to take I have to study for that test to get a good grade and continuous good grades will help me pass the course. I can’t depend on anyone else to do my work for me I’m personally responsible for completing my assignments and turning them in on time. When the weekend comes around and all I do is procrastinate by telling myself I’ll study later. The smart thing to do about this situation would be to think wise and use my time-management strategies. I’ll always have time for myself, so sacrificing some free time now is well worth it. This helps me to be a creator and not the victim about things and keeping up with the self-management strategy. The success strategies that I will use will help my learning style, self-management and self-responsibility. Most people believe success is just having lots of money, cars, and women but I believe success is an individual sport and I have to be ready to play because the outcome of my performance is based on the work I put into it.
In the college success strategies (COLL 101) class, we had explored various areas of future possibility. Throughout the quarter, We sketched out the big pictures of the future. We identified potential destination and explored the path to get there. In this reflection essay, I would like to talk about and reflect on personal development throughout the quarter.
Today was the worst day of my life. My mom gave me good and bad news. The bad news was so horrible. The good news was very surprising. The bad news was so bad, that I started crying. My mom told me that I was MOVING!!!
My journey as a student has always been focused on the path to college and success. Before I even set foot in kindergarten my mother, a college dropout, always told me that “honor roll wasn’t an option” and that I would be attending college in the future and achieving a degree. Most of the time I made these requirements. Most of the time I was awarded honor roll or had a newly edited list of colleges to attend, but sometimes life got in the way of my dreams of achieving success.
I was in my final year at high-school. I was only seventeen and the pressure of knowing that the outcome of school results would determine my whole life ahead finally got to me. I snapped. One day, in the absence of my parents, I ran away from home, hoping never to return.
My father is a mathematics teacher and everyone presumed that I also have a bright mind like my father. But the truth was quite bitter. Even though I was brought up with all the facilities a child could get, still I was an average student. This was my parents’ deepest despondency. I was a student with good knowledge and memory, but my indolence always dragged me to average standard.
