My Journal - Chronicling Daily Life Experiences
It is the start of a new year and I thought I would start a journal chronicling my daily experiences. Tonight we decided to go to the local F.O.P. lodge to a New Years Eve party. We had a pretty good time but what happened later that evening is something that I hope I don’t forget for a long time to come. Still fresh in my mind was the conversation Angela and I had on Christmas night. She was hinting that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be in a serious relationship this soon after the breakup of her previous one. If that wasn’t hard enough on Christmas she also was to ill to attend my brothers wedding with me in Madison Indiana . To add to all the confusion in my head, on my way home I stopped and got her a rose and a “happy New Years” balloon. She seemed quite touched by the gesture but also visibly troubled by it. I asked her if she was ready to have a good time tonight and she said “I was but now I don’t know.” Now what in the world does that mean! I tried applying all sorts of significant meanings to that statement but in the end I decided to just let it go and let events unfold as they would. Fast forward to 2 minutes before midnight. Angela is an absolute goddess, she is very beautiful and one of the nicest, sweetest woman I have ever met, but she is not one given to affection, especially public affection. Well at 2 minutes till she laid a kiss on me that lasted well after midnight. She absolutely blew me away!! The rest of the night was nice, we went to a couple more clubs but that moment is burned into my memory. Everything else paled in comparison. I don’t know if it is possible but I think I kissed her with my heart as well as my lips. I have heard of your “minds eye”, but tonight I found my “hearts mouth”.................

I slept very happily all morning. I guess we were up a little later than I thought. I think my mind is still reeling from last night. I don’t know what I’m going to do with my self since Monday Night football is off, and Buffalo is out of the playoffs.
The decision for Australia to adopt the Federal system was on the principle of which the State’s governments wanted to keep their power. For this reason there was the separation of powers between the newly formed Commonwealth government and the existing State governments. At a constitutional level, there are rulings in which the powers are separated, these rulings due to disputes have slightly changed since 1901. These changes all fell towards the one government, the Commonwealth (Federal) government. However this was not just a landslide event, the Constitution of Australia set up this imbalance of powers between the Commonwealth and State governments. We will explore this further in the points discussed later in this essay.
This essay will discuss two advantages of Australia federating and two disadvantages of Australia doing so. The advantages that will be outlined and discussed in this essay will be that federation helped Australia’s economy & federation was essential for Australia so it would not be colonised by another country due to a stronger defence force. The disadvantages that will be shown and explained are: there was to be one uniform law system that fits all instead of having separate law systems to best suite each colony & federation was a way to make the perfect “white Australia”.
Many people think that Australia gained its independence from England in 1901, in fact, it only became a self-governing colony still under the control of England. The newly formed Australian Commonwealth established itself in 1901 with the signing of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution. Australia was able to self-govern itself, but the colonies were still under the control of the British government. Furthermore, this meant that the British monarch was still head of state, and the Australian Commonwealth had limited power to make laws. Everything had to go through the British Government before Australia could make any final decision. Australia could not enter into any international arrangements; the British government handled any
Many would argue that children should not focus on their weight because children should lead a youth with little worries, yet obesity affects a child much more than people with that argument think. Being overweight can cause increased risks for several serious diseases and even can result in decreased mental health on account of low self-esteem and social discrimination. Children who are overweight also are at least twice as likely to have heart disease, diabetes, and orthopedic problems (Internicola, 2009). Sadly, children are being pressured into unhealthy lifestyles even more so than adults are.
Today was one more of those average days. Saving the world, climbing big ben and snooping around Buckingham Palace. I don’t understand why everyone underestimates me. For all they know I could be putting myself in mortal danger. My headquarters is on the corner of Clapham Junction. I
According to reports from the Centers for Disease Control, during the past thirty years the average rate of obesity in the US adult population has risen from under 20% to 35.7%. Secondly, during the same period, childhood obesity has tripled to a rate of 17%. It has been currently found that in more than a third of all children and adolescents are now considered to be overweight or obese. These shocking statistics show that a high prevalence of obesity appears to have increased significantly in the United States. It also continues to be a major public health concern, the total medical costs of obesity within the United States were estimated at $147 billion in 2008, and it is believed to continue to increase with the rising cost of health care. Secondly, obesity is also now considered to have become a global phenomenon. The World Health Organization has stated that obesity is responsible for approximately 8% of health costs in Europe and approximately over 10% of total deaths.
Howards End opens with Helen Schlegel going to the Wilcox family estate (called Howards End). Helen has three family members Margaret, Tibby, and Aunt Juley. Margaret does not accompany Helen on the journey as Tibby is sick. Helen writes to Margaret and says that she is in love with Paul Wilcox. Aunt Juley goes to see Helen. When Aunt Juley arrives at the estate she meets Paul’s older brother Charles. She finds out that the engagement has no substance. Soon after the Wilcox family moves opposite of the Schlegel’s. Mrs. Wilcox and Margaret become friends. Margaret discovers that Mrs. Wilcox owns Howards End. Margaret tells Mrs. Wilcox that her family will be moving away once their lease is up. Mrs. Wilcox says that Margaret and her family can move into Howards End if the time comes. Mrs. Wilcox, however, dies soon after. While going through her will, it is discovered that Mrs. Wilcox left Howards End to Margaret. The Wilcox family, however, does not tell Margaret about Mrs. Wilcox’s intention. Two years pass, and Margaret and Helen go to a dinner party. There they meet with Mr. Wilcox. He tells them that the insurance company Leonard (a poor man the Schlegel’s met at a concert two years earlier) works for will soon go out of business. Leonard does not believe the women when they discuss the matter. Mr. Wilcox is friendly towards Margaret. He proposes to her and she accepts even though Helen objects. Charles is skeptical about the engagement because he believes that Margaret only wants Howards End. Leonard and his wife Jacky disappear. Mr. Wilcox and Margaret get married and Mr. Wilcox is happy. Aunt Juley becomes sick and the Schlegels gather to comfort her. Margaret uncovers that H...
Last summer when I came out to some of my closer friends for the first time, I was completely wasted at my friend 's party a few days later and a girl I knew who knew I was gay (from me telling her and her guessing from my behavior) started talking to me about how one time she made out with a girl but didn’t like it. I remember she had came to the party late and everyone was already drunk so I went out in the garage to drink with her and vaguely remember asking after talking some more, if I could try kissing her. Somehow I think we ended up making out in the garage, and blurrily I remember later vomiting from the alcohol and how drunk I was. The next day, I felt extremely sick because of the way I acted and apologized non-stop of how sorry I was for kissing her when I knew she was
I was born and raised in New York City and lived there until the summer of 2008. In the 14 years of living in New York City, I had numerous events that influenced my life. Each event serves as a memory of something that once was. Trying to decide which memorable event from my past to write about is difficult because many of the events in my life have shaped me into the person I am. To narrow down an event, I am choosing to write about my experience of attending Green River Preserve summer camp located in North Carolina, where I learned to appreciate nature and all the living things around me.
One of the features of the Australian constitution is that is it structured in a way that in theory reflects the rule of law. This doctrine, the separation of powers, doctrine is assumed to be a fair structure of government as its principles suggest that power does not lie with one branch, but is spread out amongst the three (legislative, executive and judicial.

My strong interests in music, good food, and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom may seem broad, but they are the essentials for my aspiration in life. These passions are the incentives of how to be a happier and more successful person for me to become.
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
Upon writing this paper I felt uncomfortable. I thought “how do I write about myself?” I thought this because at this point in my education I have yet to do so. This really made me think about who I am. Physically I have red hair, I am big, and tall. Some groups I associate with are the Athletes, academics, and my family. I am interested in plenty of things such as politics and reading. My personality is described as happy, fun, intelligent, loving, and caring. I also have a few things I am passionate about like education, science, independence, and friends. I am also defined by my job where I would describe myself as working, progressive, and patient. So, twenty words to describe me are; red-headed, big, tall, athletic, academics, family, politics, strong, happy, fun, intelligent, loving, caring, education, science, independent, friends, working, progressive, and patient.
