Ever since I was little my home has been a shrine to my background and culture, in every corner you can find paintings of women draped in saris, idols of Gods, or miscellaneous items that hold the scent of incense that sponge the traditional Indian Culture. As a young girl immersed by the Indian Culture, I grew fond of the varieties of the cultural clothes in vibrant shades of colors. These clothes weren’t just an ordinary kind of clothes but rather, a path to adulthood.

Young, wild, and free, these words define a child during her Powerpuff Girls themed fifth birthday party. While throwing toys around my room with my energetic friends, many aunties (honorific for elder women) stopped by to halt our play and admired my pavada, a dress typically worn by young girls.
