My Hobby of Fishing
One of my favorite hobbies is fishing. Some people regard this as a
boring or an old man's sport, but I value it much more than that. If
you have never experienced it, I think you are really missing
something, and so you can't truly give your honest opinion on the
sport. Humans have been captivated with the sea, and catching fish
since the beginning of their existence, and the sport has, in many
ways evolved hugely, and yet in many aspects has stayed exactly the
same. The sport is unique compared to others, and I find it can be
anything from a relaxing, to a very intense experience, and every time
is different.
I was introduced to fishing by my father when I was only 4 years old,
and I have been hooked on it ever since. It is one of the few sports
that's great for just socializing and friendships, as it breaks down
the barriers we might have with one another. There are three main
types of fishing; fly fishing, coarse fishing and sea fishing. I
started with sea fishing off my uncle's speedboat in The Solent around
places like the Needles, but none of us really had any idea what we
were doing, and to catch even one fish seemed like a huge success. The
first fish I ever caught was, quite surprisingly, a small bass when I
was fishing with some bait on a hook just floating off the boat. There
is something about catching fish which just gives you such an
adrenalin burst and it becomes an addictive experience which you just
want to try again and again. The good thing about sea fishing, though,
is that most of what you catch you can eat and I find it a lot more
enjoyable compared to say coarse fishing where you are...

...snapped free causing the boat to capsize suddenly and all three of us
to go overboard. Another great thing about the sport, is that it is so
easy to get into, with books, the Internet, tutors and lessons all
available, and the gear is easy to get hold of as well, so if you have
some spare time, I can seriously recommend taking up the hobby. You
won't be disappointed.
Text Box: On this occasion coming into the harbour, the seagulls surrounded the boat because of the fish we had onboard. It was just our luck that we caught a fish which came to the surface of the water at that time, and so a seagull dived for it, and we then had a seagull which woulnt let go of the fish so we had to reel them both in, and sea gulls can give quite a nasty nip. My uncle was also quite unnerved at being at the back of the boat with all of these birds flying over.

Just as in any other sport, understanding gives rise to advantage and success. As serious fishermen, we had dedicated much thought to understanding the fish, hypothesizing their behavior. One understanding we had already gained through previous experiences was that fish readily eat the prey that is normally available. This, we concluded, was a sort of defense against fishermen and their foreign lures and was acquired through the fishes’ own previous experience of eating a lure. In applying this understanding to our fishing, we performed a routine food chain analysis to find out what our lures needed to imitate. The results were that the part of the food chain just beneath our quarry consisted mostly of small fish such as anchovies and young yellowtail, smaller than those shad and bluegill normally eaten in freshwater ponds. To compensate for this difference we would have to use lures smaller than those we were used to using. Luckily we had some.
Baseball has been a part of me for quite a while now. I have done something baseball related each week for the past several years. It has really changed what I like to do in my spare time, and it also had changed my priorities. This was the first sport I would have played, and I haven’t played a different sport since the start of me playing Baseball. There were and still are so many ways baseball has changed my life.
In conclusion, soccer is my favorite sport because, it is an easy and enjoyable game. It releases energy while you play. Teammates make connections which can last from one game to the rest of their lives. The game also has a rich history that shows the game was enjoyed before modern times. If you have not tried the sport I suggest you do, YOU WILL NOT REGRET
My first fishing experience was with my dad and my older brother when I was seven. Driving up to the creek, walking through the muddy path on the twisting dirt road. I could feel my dad’s pride
There is also a theory that part of the people’s diet was fish even though fish tackle has not yet been found. It is the discovery of stone boxes, with water-proof linings that suggested they needed a tank for fish bait, such as limpets. “Limpets are effective fish bait but they need to be softened before fish find them tempting. Soaking achieves this” (Clarke and Maggiore, 2000)

There are four men stranded on a boat who are introduced in the beginning of the story. The cook, the oiler, the correspondent, and the captain are all on a boat that "a man ought to have a bath tub larger than" (360). As the men fight the crest of each wave they encounter, it is obvious that this is a desperate situation. Showing their powerlessness the narrator describes a group of birds as sitting ."..comfortably in groups, and they were envied by some in the dinghy, for the wrath of the sea was no more to them than it was to a covey of prairie chickens a thousand miles inland" (363). Even though the men are in grave danger, the sun rises and sets and a shark even swims by but seems to have no need for the men in the boat. The men even believe that the waves are harsh on them and want to capsize the boat. The narrator explains that "[the waves were] nervously anxious to do something effective in the way of swamping boats" (361). Even though it is obvious that the ocean always has waves, it is hard fo...
Sports is what has molded us into the people we are today. The world of sports is so unique, and people have different interest and fascinations. From being a child I can remember watching the Red Sox and Celtics with my father and becoming a die hard fan for those teams due to my family being serious fans. Not only did watching those games turn me into a good New England fan but it also gave me some good quality time with my father and brothers.
Not only does it captivate the hearts of millions but it influences our culture, society, and economy. Sports are the new opiate of the masses; just how Religion touched millions of people and influenced them now so does sports in our society. For example 64% of Americans watch American Football, now let’s do the math. There are around 320,900,00 people in the U.S. so if 64% of Americans watch football then the math comes out to 205,376,000 people watching Football yearly. That right there shows just how much of an opiate sports are. If that many people are willing to sit in front of a TV and watch a sports game just think of how many people play sports.
You also can consider marshmallows, cheese, corn and so on as baits simply because they can entice stocked trout to bite. But these untraditional baits really don't appeal with a native trout which appears to have more discriminating tastes.
Fishing has been used for ages for many things like food, sport, and just for amusement of the chase; because of this, many different techniques have been developed from the centuries fishing been constructed. Also fishing can be a purpose for life just like what Henry David Thoreau said “Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after”. Everyone has issues in their life and fishing can help with it in many forms. Over all the years love of fishing has grown and, many different types have emerged such as fly-fishing, saltwater, and freshwater fishing. Also there are many different styles of fishing to the different types from baits to the rod. Because, of the constant demand and love for fishing, salt water fishing has become a growing industry along the coast of America, and saltwater fishing provide a recreational sport for many, but it can require boat access and the correct license and fishing equipment.
...cated and very expensive. Nobody has ever imagined things we have accomplished in our day and age so sports is just another one of those great achievements.
My opinion is that cooking is the best hobby to have, because it can be very useful in life. Cooking is my hobby and has been for several years. I was about five years old, when I started learning how to cook. Cooking is something that I inherited from my grandmother; my grandmother was a professional chef and owned her own restaurant, where I learned how to cook.
Throughout my life I have always played sports, even when it was not at club level I participated at sports camps and sports
