To improve my health over a period of 14 days I had two main goals: eat healthier and increase my activity level. I planned to not eat fast food, cut out caffeine, and eat a healthy balance of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and grains. In addition, to increase my activity level I intended to go to the gym four days a week and workout for at least 45 minutes to an hour a day. There were not many changes to my original plan other than working out almost every day and sometimes even doing two activities a day. I never really noticed how many days I was working out, but I knew working out or at least doing some type of activity made me stress-free at the end of the day. Shockingly, I wasn’t tempted by the junk food in the house or their bad eating habits. Instead I actually got them to eat a few healthy meals with me that they ended up liking. The two things that best motivated me was seeing the results and my mom. Firstly, my mom was always asking if I wanted to go on a walk, eat a meal at her house, what time for the gym, and etc. My mom helped push me and motivate me during this whole experience and stayed by my side through it all. Secondly, my results of having more energy, less stress, and less inflammation in my hands kept me going and wanting to do more. The highlight of this experience was seeing the difference in my hands due to my rheumatoid arthritis. Even though the project is over I plan to do that same things that I did for eating healthier and increasing my activity level. To change it up I could start to do two activities a day, find new activities that I could enjoy and find new healthy recipes instead of eating the same thing over and over again. As far as other health behavior changes that I could plan to do in the future to improve my health is getting more sleep or at least a decent amount of sleep. Furthermore, I could improve eating healthy and go see a nutritionist who could help and give me a definite food plan to help with my rheumatoid arthritis. By making these changes I may get rid of my chronic pain, inflammation, be less stressed, have more energy, and even be a happier person
