Career planning is an important part of learning as it allows an individual to prepare for the possible future direction in the corporate world. As a result, learners should understand and prepare adequately for their future careers. There are various technological careers in relation to computer systems that appeal to my future. Most of these careers have emerged due to technological advancements that have introduced new demands for organizations. In this case, I am interested in a career in computer systems administration. Therefore, I intend to start my future professional career as a computer systems administrator.

An information security analyst is an individual who is responsible for protecting an organization’s data and information from external attacks. This position also requires the basic network competencies. This is because computer analyst should be able to perform an analysis of computer systems and determine the possible risks. Besides, requires an understanding of information security procedures (New England College, 2016). Whereas a computer systems administrator focuses on maintaining computer systems and servers, an information security analyst emphasizes on the security of the system. Currently, the salary expectation for this position is $88,890 annually. The second position, a network analyst, focuses on the installation and maintenance of all network components in a computer system. Therefore, the position also handles planning, design, and analysis of all the network components and supports data communications network or groups of networks. The main promising aspect of this position is that its demand is expected to increase in the future. According to Groves, Kayyali, Knott, and Kuiken (2013), many organizations are moving towards computer systems. For instance, the health care sector has been implementing the electronic medical records system to increase efficiency and service delivery to patients. Implementation of computer systems in this sector has also been motivated by regulations requiring medical organizations to implement the systems in order to obtain medical insurance reimbursements. In the service industry, many organizations have been moving towards information systems to serve customers better. For instance, there is an increasing need for organizations to move towards electronic commerce. Therefore, the demand for this position is expected to increase in the future as more companies will require computer systems
