I am 44-year-old, I am a Mexican immigrant that came to this country looking for a better life style for her family. My husband first migrated to this country and after five years my children and I came here to be together. I got my first job in a fast food restaurant. I worked there for five years and working there I realized that the only way to succeed in this country was learning English and be educated. First, I attended an adult ESL school for a few months, but because I did not understand my teacher I decided to quit school. A few months later a friend of mine told me about an adult ESL school that had Hispanic teachers. My first day of school I felt connected with my teachers because they were immigrants like me. We live in a multicultural country and we have to work in diversity and multicultural landscape. The book refers to diversity as “all of the ways in which people are different” (Bucher, 2015, p 2). It also refers to multicultural landscape as the different styles, perspectives and traditions we can find in this country and around the world (Bucher, 2015). I as an immigrant in this country I have had to work and study with people from different countries with different values and beliefs, but it has helped me to know about other cultures and it also has expand my knowledge about other countries. When I was living in Mexico I did not have idea how big was the diversity in this country. At first living in this country I began to pay attention what people say about people from other countries and about other cultures. Some times I put much attention to stereotype, but interacting with people from different countries I realized that some times people judge some races or groups in a wrong way. According to the book when we become more open to diversity we adjust our shift gears and understand other cultures better. My views of diversity have changed over time in many ways. I have learned to accept people like they are does not matter how they look or what country they come from. Also I have learned not to judge
