Fear in Life There will be many obstacles that we will face in our lifetime; sometimes you might have a fear of water or fear of learning, but for me my biggest fear was not knowing the new language and learning a new language. I was born and raised in a small village in India, where people communicated in the native language Gujarati therefore many people including myself didn’t know any word in English. In India, I was talkative and I never stop talking to people I was never terrified of meeting new people or making a new conversation with them. Everything started to change after I moved to the USA. My family and I stayed with my uncle where they spoke Gujarati, so I felt comfortable staying with them. After about a month learning how to make basic conversation, my uncle took us to the nearest high school to get an admission, during that time I was so thrilled to meet new people and make new friends. I started high school in 2011 with one of my friends who came from India around the same time as I. We both didn’t know any word in English When we moved to the USA. One of the big advantages was that he was from the same city that I was from so we used to talk a lot in Gujarati about the home town. One the first day of school my and I walked to the school because the school was about 2 blocks away from our house, while walking to the school we were so excited to meet new people and make new friends. As soon we entered the school my friend and I heard people talking in English at a really fast pace. We were so amazed by hearing people talking in very fast pace. I could have learned English during the first two years of my high school, but I decided to not to talk to anyone. My friend I started high school at the same time, while he decided to talk to people with his little English even though they made fun of him on the first day of high school, and the result was a success. After 2 years I heard him talking to people in English at really pace and steady pace. After seeing him talking to people at very fast pace I realized that I have made the biggest mistake of my life, I should have tried to talk to people with my little English to overcome my fear of learning new language. This lesson apply to the rest my life because now I am never afraid of learning or trying new things because this lesson has taught me that if we want to be better at something we have to attempt to learn
