My Dad: My Hero “Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad.” -Anne Geddes. The older I get, the more and more I learn to truly appreciate this quote. I have been blessed by being born into the family that I have, but sometimes I take that for granted. One person that has always been a constant role model for me is none other than my father. When people ask me to describe my dad I would say that he’s a hard worker, intelligent, kind, respectable, respectful, and a strong Christian. My dad has an insane level of self-control and is always loving. He has taught me how a man should treat a lady and inspired me from a young age to be a strong person. His love and dependence upon God is something that is so inspiring to see. He’s compassionate, honest, humble, kind, loving, respectful, respectable, and unselfish. All of these characteristics come from his desire to become a better Christian. He attends church every Sunday that he’s not working and studies his Bible every night. In fact, when asked if there’s one thing in the world that he could learn more about he said he’d love to have more biblical knowledge. We live in a world that is filled with so many people who have a “father” but not a dad. I have been blessed because I not only have a father, but I have a great dad. He’s a huge inspiration to me and has always been one of my biggest role models. My dad has taught me many valuable life lessons. Some including how a man should treat a lady, how I should treat others, how I should behave, and how I should love and pursue a better relationship with God. My dad has shown me what it takes to be a hard worker all the while showing me that you can’t let your work consume you; you have to take the time to work on relationships.
