My Experience Of An Internshipment

I am doing my internship at an inn called Newagen Seaside Inn on Southport Island, Maine. Some observations I have made since I have been on internship would be that the majority of the summer staff in the inn is different from the year round staff. The summer staff is more international such as we have people from Jamaica, Ghana, Russia and a few others. The entire staff is really nice and helpful if you have any problems. The workflow is very smooth and everyone knows what that have to do that day. During a busy day or an event day everyone knows what they have to do and how to move around the event. The management at the inn is regulated well and the entire staff knows who they work under and who they have to report too. Each Tuesday there is a meeting with the owner of the inn and the manager of each staff.
As an internship student they treat me like part of their staff. Since I am only working with the event team. The event team consists of three event coordinators who treats me like one of them and they give me a lot of responsibility. The head of the Event Team Cherie Scott put me in charge of our huge conference next week called Heinemann. So, i have to know every little detail about the this event and have to be there from start to finish for 4 days. I have not had any negative experience with my …show more content…

I will be there from 6am-10pm every day and I will get a lot of experience and learn how to work a conference. It will be good practice for if I have to run one later on. The second, would be that I am working weddings every weekend and i get to learn how to set up, break down, expedite dinner orders, set up lobster bakes, how to arrange tables and flowers. The third, I will get to learn how to do the marketing side of events, budgeting, newsletters, invites, menus, and everything from starting to plan an event to executing
