What are your educational and career goals? What specific steps have you already taken on the path to reaching them?
My educational goal is to pursue a bachelor 's degree and come back later on for my masters. I also want to study abroad in the middle east, or in Latin America. Steps I have taken to reach this goal is enrolling in a study abroad program called OneWorldNow. I have enrolled in a Arabic 1 course and also taken three Spanish classes. I have also joined Achievers and Upward Bound program to assist me in navigating which college or university I want to attend. In order to better prepared for a bachelor 's degree I enrolled at Seattle Central College to get a headstart. A career goal for me is to start my own company or become self-employed. I have taken steps like learning about being an entrepreneur by joining a business program at the UW Foster School of Business called YEOC. In also to get a better

Especially when it is about my academics. My sister has gone through the process of applying to college and filing for FASFA. When I need help with things like college applications or even scholarship applications I turn to my sister. When I need advice on which schools I should apply to I ask my sister because she is knowledgeble about the the schools and what they offer. A situation where my sister really helped was when I needed to figure out how to fill out my FASFA. I wasnt sure about the tax information that I needed, and after asking my sister it was a lot clearer. I wanted to get my FASFA as soon as possible so that I could get as much money I possible could get for college. If my sister didn 't have the information I would turn to my College Success mentor Dawn. Dawn has helped me really navigate a lot of my college applications and requirements for the application. When my sister is busy with finals or school I turn to her because she is really knowledgeable about the college
My career goal is To assure the success of the process of children’s education; by providing them learning tools, which lead them to higher levels of education. In adition, I would advocate for quality services and rights for children and families.
The path I have taken toward obtaining my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Management, and Economics, with a concentration in Marketing, has been different than I expected when I first started college. I started at Brooklyn College at 17-years-old and frankly, I wasn’t ready for it. I struggled to balance an awkward schedule of classes and inconsistent study habits. I never felt completely comfortable there and after two years of performing poorly, I enrolled at Kingsborough Community College. I viewed it as a new start and seized the opportunity. I decided to major in Business Administration; I made the Dean’s List, and saw my grades improve dramatically. After completing 74 total credits, I decided I was ready to return to a four-year-college. I initially considered returning to Brooklyn College but at this time my grandmother had become ill. I applied to the College of Staten Island which was near her home and would make it possible for me to help her out with whatever she needed and attend school locally. This worked out great for my first semester. I carried a 3.47 GPA and decided to major in Business, with a concentration in Marketing. At this time, I was working part-time while in school. But due to certain circumstances, I was forced to obtain a full-time job in addition to other part-time commitment. This made it very difficult for me to enroll in classes as most of the upper-level marketing classes that I needed for graduation were only offered during the day when I would now be working. I enrolled in night and weekend classes for the next two semesters but my grades began to suffer. In the last semester I tried to register at the College of Staten Island, I couldn’t fit the courses I needed into my ever-growing w...
These goals have been in part influenced by my childhood and Hispanic Heritage. Had it not been for the vast efforts of my parents I may have never had the chance to receive a quality education or even vision post-secondary options. When I was two years old my father was in an accident, he had fell two stories at work. This accident left my dad in a coma for 17 days and in a vegetative state. I was little at ...
To my surprise, we were presented with the task of writing a paper on our personal goals as one of the first assignments for this class. I was suddenly given the opportunity to analyze my personal goals with respect to education, work, and other aspects of my life. I came to realize that my primary personal goal was to expand my knowledge to gain a better understanding of myself and to determine my ultimate path in life. For me, these goals could only be realized by attending college. During my time at University of Phoenix, I will be investing my time and energy into the specific objectives of graduating and improving myself as a person.
Describe the progress you are making toward each of your goals, and include any setbacks or struggles
However, each goal that I strived for, I achieved because my mother always had faith in me. She believed I could do anything that I put my mind to . For eleven years, my mother was a single parent who raised me. My biological father died before I was born. She basically raised me all alone. My mother always bought me books as a child. Every night we read books like, 'Who am I,' and my favorite, 'Wacky Wednesday,' from beginning to end. Her dedication inspired me to be the person that I am striving for today. She always had a way of showing me her love and care by pushing me towards a successful life. Regardless of the circumstances, she was the one who helped me get to where I am today. This is why I'm determined to go even further in life.
My personal career goal is to do Information Technology (IT) and how I’m going to achieve that goal is by going to a community college to start off with and then go to a four year college. When I get my Bachler’s degree I will go further into my career into helping my job fix computers when they are broken down. The process of deciding to pursue a career as an IT was is an easy one, but that process has helped me define my career goal, be realistic about what I want, and plan thoughtfully about how to reach my goals.
Pondering about my future, I was able to identify three goals to work towards to better my life. The first goal is personal, my fiancé and I have been trying to save for a house and a car and this is the year we are going to make the purchases. My second goal is professional, in the future, I would ideally like to be a social worker. However, thinking about the immediate future, I would like to find a job that will give me real world experience in my chosen field of study. Finally, my third goal pertains to my on-line education. My goal is to graduate on-time with honors, and I am willing to work arduously for it. As stated by MacLeod, “In order to reach a single goal, several enabling or supporting objectives usually have to be met”(2012). Therefore, a plan needs to be put in place in order to reach your goals successfully.
Ever since we enter grade school, the same questions are always asked of us. “What do you wanna be when you grow up?” that same question then matures to “ what are you going to major in?” etc.. The question that needs to be asked is how are you going to get where you want to be. It involves a lot of planning, dedication and effort to get somewhere that worthwhile. Most importantly effort is needed to accomplish any of these goals. My first present goal Is to do my best and put all my effort into the classes i 'm enrolled in this year. Get the most out of the classes as I can. My second goal is to really be open to new experiences and keep an open mind for everything and enjoy life and live a little. My third goal is to achieve financial freedom not in
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
I have many future educational and career goals. First of all, educationally, I would like to graduate high school with honors. After graduating high school, I hope to continue on to college and obtain an Associate's Degree in Biology, and then attend nursing school to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Career wise, I would like to begin as a registered nurse. However, ultimately I hope to obtain a Master’s of Science in Nursing and have the possibility to become a nurse practitioner. While these dreams are ambitious, I truly believe that I am prepared to accomplish my goals because of my life experiences.
Educational Goals: Education is extremely important part of my past, present, and future goals. I currently hold an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design Media. I have found that an A.A.S Degree does not go as far al I originally intended in the Rochester, MN area and furthering my education will be a necessity for my future career goals. Over the past 2 years I have been working on my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the Minnesota School of Business Rochester campus. I am currently a senior with 3 quarters left before a spring graduation. After a June graduation, I plan on taking a summer quarter break. After summer break I will either continue on at MSB for my Masters in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing or transferring the University of Minnesota for my Masters in Adult Education. After my Masters Degree is complete I will decide at that time if I wish to continue on and achieve my Ph.D.
I have always wanted to make good grades but I never really set any goals but, then I realized that setting academic goals are way more important than people realize . I then started to set goals like my sophomore year of high school after I did that it really helped me focus on my future and what I wanted for myself. My goals I think pushed me so much more academically they opened my eyes a little bit more. One Goal I set was to graduate High school with a Core 40 diploma, which I did, so that is one goal down and a bunch more to go. My senior year I started applying to college but my main goal was to make into Saint Mary-of-the Woods and when I received my acceptance letter I was ecstatic. So far, I am still trying to figure out my academic goals for college but, I do know for sure that I want to succeed in every single way that I can so I can make a better future for myself. A goal that I made this year is to make the dean’s list every single time, for this I will study so hard for every test, do all of my homework, and ask questions when I have them and maybe even getting a tutor. This challenge will probably be really tough but I believe that I can do it if I put my mind to it, and I tend to be a very determined
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
All your life growing up, you don 't have to make any big decisions. This all changes senior year when you have to make a decision about what you are going to do with your life after high school. What you choose to do can dictate how you spend your time and money. If you do not make a choice you will not be able to move on towards being a self supporting adult. Decisions are hard to make but essential to keep moving forward.
