My Disdain for Group Work

Within every group there is a formation process that inevitably occurs. There are five stages of this process, Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning. Each of these phases are important in the creation of a group that is cooperative and capable in executing a task successfully. Unfortunately, due to my personal experiences, I find group work to be tedious. Much of this I would say would have to be the result of my past group's inability to pass the “Storming” stage of group formation. As well as making the soul goal of the group to reach the “Adjourning” stage. However, throughout analyzing how the stages of formation work much of the issues that were prominent could have been resolved easily if there was more effort put into the group's communication methods.
Finals were rolling in over the horizon. They were coming fast, with the intent to hit hard. Everyone was frantic about what they needed to bring their “B” to an “A” or their “D” to a “C.” We were seniors and ready to experience what life had to offer.
