I believe that the children in our classrooms are the future to our nations success. Each student will bring a different skill and talent to the classroom, and as a teacher it is my goal to help each student to succeed to their maximum potential. Students shall learn and adapt to essentialism. Students will graduate knowing all the required material and more to ensure a promising future. Parents should support each student to the best of there ability. The community’s roll is to support academic and extracurricular activities inside and outside of school. It is a teacher’s responsibility that no student should be left behind. Teachers should keep up to every standard, learn and adapt to students and continuously put as much effort to develop them selves to become improved educators. Students should put as much effort and focus into studies as possible. It is important that students keep on track and goal orientated. Student learning occurs when the teacher introduces new material, explains the content, guides the student through the exercises and tests them to make sure they can comprehend the new material. As an educator, we will be teaching our students content that pertains to our expertise. The physical environment of my classroom will be large, open, and slightly dim. The lights will be dimmed because it is easier on the student’s eyes. When I was working out in industry, all CAD offices had the blinds shut, and the computer monitors brightness turned up, I had observed that at several companies I have visited over the years as well. The classroom lay out will be grouped in desks of four in a square shape. The monitors will be towards the center of the square. If a diversity statement were to occur between a student and myself, I will immediately seek the principle or councilor. If a student with special needs is addressed in a statement from another student, I will allow the principle to make disciplinary actions. Bullying will not be allowed in my classroom. I plan to follow and abide by my classroom management plan, my syllabus, and all school policies. I strongly believe that in order to have successful students; a successful, dedicated, and compassionate staff is required to help each and every student achieve their academic goals.

Students need to be actively involved in the classroom by asking questions and participating in classroom activities. The students is also responsible for doing homework. If the student does not complete homework or school assignments then they are hurting themselves. The teacher can encourage students to do their work and also hold them out of activities till they do their work. This still will not help at home the students have to be responsible enough to do their homework. Students also need to be paying attention in class and participating in the class activities. I feel the areas that I have touched in this paper along with my personal philosophy statement, reflect my views and opinions as a future educator. I have spoke about areas that are of importance to me, and ideas that I feel will make a difference in someone’s life. My personal philosophy of classroom management focuses on creating an environment where children feel safe and where they feel like they belong. I will create this environment for my fourth grade class through making my expectations of the students clear while developing an engaging lesson plan and personable interactions with my students. I developed my philosophy from studying different theorists and based my philosophy on the theories of Glasser and Kounin. Glasser believed that the teacher’s roll in the classroom is that of a leader rather than a boss. He believed that students should be given power in the classroom and that the teacher should share it with the students. I will use his ‘7 caring habits’ specifically supporting and respecting to help my classroom feel safe and welcoming to my students. Meeting the individual needs of my students will be the focus of my classroom management routine. I will meet individual needs by promoting self management and self efficacy in my students by creating an environment that that has predictable and consistent daily routines while focusing on my student’s successes (Shindler, 2010). Having a predictable routine will encourage a success oriented environment and will reduce anxiety and help towards creating positive self efficacy in each of my students (Shindler, 2010). In Glasser’s Choice Theory he talks about focusing on the present and not bringing up the past (Glasser, 2010). In my twelve years of teaching experience, one thing that most of my colleagues have struggled with at some point in their career has been classroom management. All effective educators need to find ways to motivate their students. The kids that fill our classrooms have different strengths and weaknesses. It is critical that teachers recognize the strengths and weaknesses of their students so they can use the right classroom management strategies to motivate their kids. In this particular case, the student named Jodie is inattentive and uninterested and neither the teacher intern or classroom teacher have a clue how to handle this situation. As a teacher, my goal will be to provide the best possible education for my students. Every student is unique. I must see students for who they are individually and respect their ideas and opinions. Each student has a different learning style. I must take this into consideration because I want to provide a constructive learning opportunity for every student. In many cases, it has become very complex to keep students interested in their education. So the teacher must be creative and find ways to keep pushing the student onward as well as upward. In order to devise the ultimate plan for educating students, a teacher must acknowledge that the “students” are what teaching is all about. The most important factor in the equation is unequivocally the STUDENT! All humans are different in some sort or fashion. But the fact still exists that we all have only this place to function in. So help by putting forth an effort to make it a better place for us all.
