I have chosen a nursing career for many reasons, which include: the personal joy I receive in helping others, making a difference in the lives of my patients, and the experience and knowledge I would gain on a daily bases. When someone is in need, I can honestly say I am the person to go to. In order for someone to come to you, you want to make sure the person
When it comes to professionalism, I idolize the PUC teachers. During the whole Registered Nursing (RN) program they have helped me develop leadership skills to deliver the best care for the patients. Throughout the program, I would like to refine my leadership skills at the BSN level to collaborate with the health care professionals to provide the finest care for the patients. Making wise decisions, delivering patients with appropriate information and good speaking manners also determines one’s professionalism. I’m looking forward to preserve strong knowledge base, leadership skills and improve the evidence based practice skills to deliver positive patient outcomes.
General Qualifications for becoming a nurse, according to Regina Ranburn, include: “Compassion, caring for others, selflessness, love for humanity, and desire to help others” (1). These qualities are vital to a career in nursing because most fields require direct patient care. Dealing with patients one-on-one every day requires compassion and caring for those who need healing. Selflessness meaning putting someone else’s needs above your own and that is exactly what nursing is all about. People put their trust in you to help them in a way they do not know how to do.
I am going to Belmont College for their Registered Nursing (RN) program. My proposed career is nursing. I chose this career because I love learning about how the body works and I love helping others. I love learning about how the body works, what can go wrong, and what certain things do to the body. I’ve always loved helping others in my life, and I want to continue to do it for the rest of my life.
The personal qualities that will benefit me to accomplish an outstanding job in the nursing practice are my hard working skills. Determination is an additional quality that will enhance me in the nursing practice. In addition, caring for my patient when they are sick is another personal quality that will benefit me to do an outstanding job in the nursing practice. Throughout my education, I proved that I am a hard working student that will never give up. My ambition of becoming a nurse, pushed me even harder to reach my goal.
My career journey will take me to a different aspect of nurturing however, just as important our patients are we too must nurture each other. I am looking forward the continuous growth in my career in clinical IT. I believe in good communication with any new implementation and encourage feedback and input. I let them know they are valued and important to what will ultimately affect them. As stated by Billings and Kowalski (2008) using positive questions can enhance communication, increase the understanding, and commitment in the work force.
They believe that the relationship between the patient and nurse is very important, as do I. In or... ... middle of paper ... ...from their patients. I believe our patients bring out the better in us and help us stop and realize the many amazing things in our lives. Nursing is an amazing career and I am beyond blessed and excited to go through this journey in my life to become a nurse! There is nothing I love more than doing my best to help people.
Nursing is a career that you will spend your whole life helping others. Nursing is one of the most exciting and in-demand jobs in America today. Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease and help patients cope with illness. Nursing isn’t only helping with biological needs but, psychosocial and culture needs too. Nurses check up on the patients to make sure they are comfortable and do not need anything twenty-four seven.
All the things that I have learned while in nursing school has taught me how to become a health advocate for others. If a loved one is sick, I will be able to better advocate for them about specific treatment options available. I am blessed to have gotten the opportunity to attend nursing school as it has taught me such valuable lessons that I will carry with me
As a registered nurse at an acute hospital, I know that nursing is more than the basic science behind the illness. It’s about human connection. I have many memorable interactions with some truly inspirational individuals, who I have encountered in my journey as a nurse, who ended up teaching me valuable lessons in life and have inspired me to grow into the best version
