Around the world, there are various genres of music from pop to rock, individuals indulge in music as the greatest form of entertainment. One popular genre is classical music. Within classical music there are many great composer one of which is Ludwig van Beethoven. He was a German composer and pianist. Beethoven was very known between the Classical and Romantic Era in Western Classical Music. Beethoven is known as a great composer who had a unique method of composing music as a result of overcoming many obstacles in his life. Beethoven was born on December 16,1770 to Maria Magdalena Keverich and Johann van Beethoven. Beethoven was fortunate to be in a musical family where his grandfather and father was a musician. The French Revolution started off with France in a depression and people were very unhappy. In 1789 The formation of the National Assembly made up of people from the third estate who were trying to reform, France, took an oath to create a new French constitution known as the Tennis Court Oath . Between 1803 and 1809 , he composed five symphonies. His third symphony, known as Eroica was at first dedicated to Napoleon, but the dedication was later taken back as a result of Beethoven disgust by Napoleon crowning himself emperor. Another renowned work of Beethoven was his fifth symphony, which was his only opera he wrote named Fidelio. Beethoven wrote his last symphony “ The Choral” in 1824 and performed in that same year.
