The Munchkins Summer Camp is a summer program designed to provide preschoolers with a memorable one-of-a-kind experience within a caring environment. Every camp assistant is assigned a group of preschool campers, and is expected to lead them through the planned activities. Therefore, a camp assistant for the Munchkins Summer Camp must possess excellent leadership skills, patience, teamwork abilities, organization, and initiative. I have admirably demonstrated all of the desired character traits during my time as a camp assistant; proven by my success during Munchkins Summer Camp in 2015.
Everyday, I made sure to arrive at least 1 hour before the camp doors opened in order to look over my schedule and prepare for activities planned for that

I made sure every camper’s morning started on a positive note by greeting them with a welcoming attitude. While the preschool campers begin to swarm in, I also make sure to look around for any lost children and redirect them towards their camp counsellors. This process of welcoming children lasts for at least 20 minutes; until I am sure that there are no other campers coming.
The first few days of camp consisted of me leading ice-breaker games that helped campers get to know each other. As the week progressed, the activities slowly strode away from introductory games to activities that reflect the theme of the week. Through activities and games, I was able to get a firm understanding of what kind of children I was working with, and how to approach them when conflicts arise. I was seen as a respective leader that tended to both the interests and problems of all campers; ensuring everyone, including other camp assistants, enjoyed the short time we had together.
Each day concluded with snack time back in the basement of the mess hall as campers wait for their parents to come pick them up. During this time, I would clean up any garbage or scraps that were left over from previous activities and prepare for the next
We sat there for a few more minutes then I got up and yelled for everyone to get ready to start moving again. I donned my pack and tightened the straps, and after making sure everyone else was ready, started off down the winding trail to the night’s campsite.
In the summer of 2015 I attended Camp Four Winds Westward Ho on Orcas Island, Washington. This camp is a non-profit organization that offers two month-long sessions for campers ages 10 to 16 with staff positions starting at age 17. This summer I worked in the barn for one month-long session and 10 days after that. I got up at six-o'clock every morning and I finished my work at the barn at six-o'clock pm. After I usually helped with camp dishes until 9 at night. I felt accomplished in working hard because I felt like I was making a difference to make the camp run smoother. Though after awhile it was challenging to even get up in the morning due to exhaustion, I persevered through it and proved to myself that I have a lot of willpower. I enjoy
It showed something about how adolescents that were camp counselors had a better sense of self-identity and faced the stages of emerging adulthood with more skills. I found that there are various studies have surrounded this idea. Johnson and colleagues took an in-depth look into 20 men and women from 8 different camps (2011). Similar to the idea of someone that wears many hats, the role of a camp counselor is one that has many opportunities for taking on and in essence testing out different roles. This is why the attribute is a camp counselor to advances in identity exploration, especially since it allows them to try out roles where they experience being a role model and having some

When it comes to children’s education, you can never start too early. At Little Minds Matter: Monsters 2 Munchkins, they understand that early child education is essential to a child’s development and are dedicated to nurturing all aspects of it. With two locations throughout Wisconsin, one in Eau Claire and the other in Durand, they offer supportive, encouraging, and comprehensive learning environments for children as young as six weeks to adolescents 12 years of age.
Listening to a child’s viewpoint in today’s world is one technique to fully understand what they are thinking about and why they would be thinking about it. These children are having a horde of thoughts streaming through their mind with the foster children transitioning into a new home and receiving a new family. Although, the foster child is not the only one feeling anxious about the switch into another home but the f...
There are dozens of benefits that camp graciously gives to campers which influence their daily life including friendships, independence, community, and competence. These universal values and skills are learned at all 7,000 sleepaway camps across the nation, creating more aware, socially conscious, and community oriented children from a young age. The tradition of camp will continue to exist due to the benefits it patently has. Although an adult can be successful without going to sleepaway camp; the exposer camp gives kids at a young age is incredibly beneficial. While camp influences who you become as an adult, it achieves its goal through a magical and memorable experience - something a lifetime camper will recognize and be thankful for as they reach adulthood.
I created this specific kids summer camp, because I wanted every children to be included instead of having a cheerleader camp or karate camp. We are responsible for general safety and to have a great time. Our goal is to have the children learn in a fun, positive and respectful way. We’d like to try to incorporate educational subjects into camp and encourage them to learn in an enjoyment way.The lesson plans serves and helps children develop in all four areas of development. In physically, children are participating in fitness, soccer, running around. In this camp, physically is involved in so many ways- children are constantly are moving, using their muscle and strength. In emotionally, they can learn what emotion to put in camp. In the setting

I placed my bags by the door and texted Riley saying I was heading over. Then I went to my room grabbed my wallet and walked out the door with my bag. It was cold and rainy but the rest of the week was supposed to be hot.
This course has helped me learn that as an E.C.E. leader it is imperative to be have unity and have a shared vision in order to effectively meet the needs of the families being served. An early childhood program administrators commits and recognizes that we have “many responsibilities to the families we serve and that the well-being of the children in our care is our primary responsibility, above our obligations to other constituencies” (NAEYC, 2006, p.2).
From the friendships they can make that will last a lifetime, to the distinct memories they have of campfire traditions, camp is laced with immeasurable meaning. The skills that children learn and practice at camp can become a part of their identity, and may even grow into passions that they will continue to pursue as an adult. Whether they want it or not, the songs with constantly haunt them throughout the years and though they claim to hate it, they secretly enjoy the reminder of summer fun and adventure. One thing camp taught me that I find of value today, is to say “yes!” to adventures and working with my team to accomplish outrageously fun challenges and
Narrator: Welcome to camp! The sun is shining, the lake is sparkling, the trees are tall and the Program Aides are singing. What could possibly go wrong in such a beautiful place?!
This experience as a whole provided me with the opportunity to show my professional quality as an educator, a cooperative team member, and a lifelong learner. A few things that I continuously had to reflect on throughout this experience was my self-competence, my performance as well as the children’s, and of course my professional demeanor which directly impacted the effectiveness of my planning, teaching and...
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her gargantuan skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every morning together
