INTRODUCTION
1.0 Introduction

A multichannel application is an application that runs on multiple channels and devices (desktops, tablets, phones, kiosks). A multichannel application development goes hand in hand with cross platform development of the application. The cross platform mobile application development helps to develop applications for multiple platforms running on different mobile devices. It gives facility to the developer to write code only once and to reuse the same code for some other platform. The application is capable of running on multiple operating systems (Android, iOS, Windows Phones, BlackBerry etc.) using a single code base and has multiple deployment methods (Native, HTML5/mobile web, mixed mode). Multi-channel can be a solution to an enterprises' need to support smartphones, tablets, PCs, and kiosks.

The reasons for adopting multichannel and cross platform approach to development of applications are: ease of use, re-usability of code, easy availability of plug-ins, fastest to marker, Lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

The multi-device population, the users expect a rich and a flawless experience regardless of the device they use. Users maintain a multitude of devices, which each contain an individualized development language. From Objective-C on iOS devices to J2ME on Blackberries, to C# & .Net on Windows devices, to Java on Android, developing and building applications for each one of these code bases is tedious and expensive. Hand coding apps for multiple devices is no longer a realistic option. It's too expensive, too slow, and too complex to manage.

Under provider finder the user can view:
A list of hospitals along with its information and timings. The user can choose to view the location of the hospitals on the map and can search for a specific hospital according to the name or the area of location.

A list of pharmacies associated with the company along with their information and timings. The user can choose to view the location of the pharmacies on the map of the country where the company is operating and can search for a specific pharmacy according to the name or the area of location.

The users can search for doctors according to the area or their name. The users can also look up for the doctors according to the specializations in which they will be categorized. The map of the clinic or the hospital of the doctors can be viewed thereby making it easier for users to understand the directions.
