Muffins has two different meaning. The American's muffins means baked bread in small tins or cups. While the English muffins means an oven-baked bread, cooked in a griddle. Muffin is a small cake according to the Old German word muffen where it name was derived from. Muffins has various variations such as banana muffin, blueberry muffin, cheese muffin, corn muffin and so many others.
However, the American muffin can be likened to a cupcake but the difference is that cupcakes are usually made with cake batter but they both have the same size and preparation method.

Put aside to cool but do not let it solidify
Break the egg inside a separate bowl, add th sugar, vanilla extract, and milk
When the melted butter is cool, pour a small amount into the egg mixture above and stir thoroughly and continue adding the melted butter until the mixture is well combined
Add together the dry mixture with the wet mixture and mix together properly. Do not over mix, a few seconds mixing is enough. You will sight lumpy in the batter but that is nothing to worry about.
Set the batter aside for like ten minutes for the lumps to dissolve
After this, pour the batter into th muffin cups or pan one at a time and place inside the oven
Allow to bake for twenty minutes. Afterwards, insert a toothpick in th center of one of muffins to check its tenderness
If the toothpick comes out dry, the muffins are well backed then
