Movies are one of the innumerable varieties of media that are utilized to display information. They might be exercised for numerous purposes depending on their designated audience. Regardless of the genre, all films must employ some organizational structure. Specifically, when evaluating all genres under the topic of fiction, there are vital parts that must be incorporated in order for that particular story to be successful. Although it may appear that there are a great deal of components to composing a successful movie story, the core elements that must be utilized to produce a compelling and fascinating movie story are: characters, plot, theme, and a setting. Unlike the other aspects, theme isn’t instantaneously perceptible to the audience. Theme could be regarded as the message for the audience that is derived from the plot. Depending on the exploits of the protagonist, the theme of a story could contrast from a moral lesson to an allusion to another story. In order for theme to be executed appropriately in a story, specific points must be mentioned give the audience an indication to the theme itself. A brilliant implementation of this was in The Bucket List; a movie about two lung cancer diagnosed men who met in a hospital. Since they were terminally ill, they opted to embark on an expedition to complete their bucket list (a particular amount of accomplishments a person aims to complete in their lifetime). Like other aspects, setting retains an imperative role in aiding the audience in grasping the story. Setting is always located at the exposition of a story, but it could be incorporated in other parts of the plot depending on the succession of events. Setting consists of: time, weather and the place of a story. Through the insertion of setting, the audience identifies where the story is taking place. The biggest involvement setting makes to a story is how is establishes mood. Depending on the setting of a particular event, a particular mood could be crafted. For example, if the viewer sees a house that is worn and there are a lot of eerie sounds present, the audience could be experiencing fear.
