Imagine a little girl watching on TV a documentary about an African tribe to which water was sacred because it was very scarce. That girl was me I was 8 years old and It was the first time I understood natural resources are limited and that we do not have the same water and food accessibility and accessibility. A few long time afterwards I started to be interested in the environmental and food issues and I became a Greenpeace volunteer against genetically altered organisms. Then, I read a story about the expectations in agriculture by 2050 and I realized that the planet needed solutions based on scientific knowledge like biotechnology. This and other experiences motivated my life plan and motivated to apply to the Agris Mundus Master of Science. During my youth I went to several religious missions to rural and indigenous regions in my country. In Guerrero, the coffee producers spent much time harvesting a coffee beans bag and then they sold it at a very low price; the price was equivalent to two and a half liters of milk. What could they do with that money if they were a family of five persons? Also, I remember the two community stores in a very poor village in Oaxaca: they only offered sugar beverages, sweet bread, milk, candies and chips, but no fruits or vegetables. How could they improve their nutritional status? Also, I remember a woman who lived alone with her three children because her husband went to the USA to work; they only ate beans and tortillas, and sometimes eggs from her two hens. Also, I remember a family who received milk and vitamins for the children from the state, but they gave it to the animals. All these experiences made me question how could I efficiently help to people? By then I was already studying nutr... ... middle of paper ... ...asurable results, a required feature to do research. Curiosity and creativity are two core elements of my personality and they keep me motivated looking for latest information and creating solutions to the food and nutritional problems. I think I'm good at working in a team, I always try to listen to others and to be resilient to the different opinions and suggestions. Also, I can work with people of different ages, gender, educational level and socioeconomic status; this made me a goof field worker. I am a very analytical person and flexible thinking, and this has helped me a lot to suggest creative solutions to my patients. All of this made the little girl a perfect candidate for the Agris Mundus Master of Science, because, she, I have a very experience supported motivation and the Msc will be a very important step to achieve my goals and to help the people.
