Buddhists and modern science agree that having a mind is what sets all sentient or conscious being apart from other organisms such as grass and trees. Both agree that the mind is, in a sense, the puppet master. The mind is always present and active. But understand that they both can be used to help bring mental awareness and even bring use new method to dealing with mental illnesses. We are very lucky to be living alive at this unique moment in human history, when the collaboration between Western and Buddhist scientists is poised to offer all humanity the possibility of achieving a level of well-being that defies imagination. Most people feel that we are this single entity that continues unchanged over time. In general people tend to feel were the same person today as we were yesterday but that is false we are constantly changing whether that be hair color or weight even the cells in our body are always changing, as old one dies new ones come are generated. Change is the only thing that holds absolute truth. People should change for the better but not for themselves but for others. The heart of compassion completes awareness, and full capable of achieving the greatest good, not only for yourself, but for everyone and everything you can imagine.
