With the development of communication technology, it leads more and more people to contact these products such as Twitter, Facebook and Wechat. In today’s society, these products play a very important role in people’s lives. According to Lauren(2014), people always spend lots of hours to connect with each other via these communication technologies every day. These products have become necessary tools to keep relationships for people or countries. However, there are also some negative factors to affect these relationships. Firstly, as is known to all, there are some international organizations of terrorist which often threaten people’s safeties. In order to solve this problem, all of the countries should work together to fight against the illegal organizations. In this situation, the communication technology plays a vital role. For instance, if there is a terrorist attack happens in a country, this country can quickly let other countries know this news and remind other countries to pay attention to their safeties. To a certain degree, other countries can provide some help to this country. It is good for countries to keep well relationships. In addition, communication technologies can increase the relationships between countries. For example, in recent years, the plane crashes and ship sinks are often occur. According to Goldsmith(2014), due to people are too addict to the communication technologies, one in five people reduce their face-to-face contact with other people. Let’s Talk” author Sherry Turkle wants to tell the reader that people should value and respect their relationship by replacing smartphone with face-to-face conversation. She is a professor who studying psychology for around 30 years; she uses many other psychologists study to proved that people are rely on smartphone too much and start to replace conversations with texting. In the essay, she explains how the smartphone is becoming an essential part of America lives; which later affected people’s way of communication. She also provides several solutions for people to solve the negative effect that come from those devices; so people can learn how to push back against it and start to engage more in the conversation for benefit yourself with friendship and society.
People’s lives are influenced by the lack of communicating. For example, in Hamilton Spectator’s article Wired For the Future, the writer explains the negative effects caused by the lack of communicating by saying, “[i]f teens stop communicating with their friends and others face to face, they will lose the ability to navigate complex social situations and that could be devastating for them when they are faced with college and job interviews....” (Hamilton Spectator 2). In other words, that when people keep forgetting how to communicate by overly using messaging systems, it could lead to negative problems in their lives: interviews or meeting with delegates. This goes for everyone who is in a long distance relationship, or those who are far away from their families. The use of video chats, texting, and calling improves communication for those who we can’t see on a daily basis. Wortham believes that without these options of technology she would not still be in the relationship with her current boyfriend, or if she was in the relationship still they would not be as close as they are with the use of the video chat dates they have.
