Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed;the investigation of their properties and the ways in which they interact,combine,and change;and the use of these processes to form new substances. Chemists believe that chemistry is the study of matter and the study of change. Chemistry is in our everyday life,it has to deal with the food we eat,the air we breathe,and almost everything we see or touch. The reason chemistry is so important is because it's the foundation to life, like humans and other living organisms.

Chemistry has been used for thousands of years.The first chemical reaction used in a controlled manner was fire;burning wood,boiling water,and lighting. Early societies used fire in its beginning to cook and keep habitats lit to more advanced things like making pottery,brickmaking and melting metals.Soon advancements were made to include glass making and the purification of metals.
