Domestic Violence: Nearly Three U.S. Women Killed Every Day by Intimate Partners

I was surprised to learn that 3 women a day in the United States are killed by their partners. As it was the case of Karen Smith, who went to work to primary school in San Bernardino, California and that her husband Cedric Anderson fatally murdered her just because she left him. Her story struck me because her husband also killed an 8-year-old boy and wounded a 9-year-old boy.
I believe that domestic violence occurs in women of all ages and in all countries, regardless of their social status. Many of the women have to endure insults, threats to them or their children, physical punishment, rape and psychological abuse from their husbands. For example, my grandmother …show more content…

In my country, the Dominican Republic is a woman who is afraid to tell her partner that she does not want to stay with him, is to live with fear in her own home. In my country, where the lives of women are violently raptured and where their lives are worthless and nothing matters. The access or mistreatment of women is not an isolated fact that is read in a local newspaper, but is often the daily life of women, young people, adults, married, single, workers and grandmothers.
In a country where man thinks he is more man when he hits a woman. Many times we are told that violence is our fault, because we are unfaithful, disobedient or even what accuse us of provoking man for the clothes we wear. I believe that women who are victims of violence go through moments that leave them sequels, is the psychological and physical sequela. Many times women do not understand that the best way to correct a hurtful relationship is by denouncing the rapper.
