Education provides the foundation that enables students to be successful lifelong learners that thrive in society.
Technology Infusion The current trends in improving educational achievement address specific concerns that focus on increasing student’s achievement. Teachers, administrators, parents and community stakeholders want the educational environment conducive for learning. The use of technology will assist students in the workplace and increase their high order thinking skills needed to effectively function in our global society. Harvey –Woodall (2009) suggests that educators of the 21st century must become knowledgeable of different facets of technology available for the classroom to enhance instruction. It is important to note that the use of technology in the classroom can foster learning and improve student’s critical and reflective thinking skills.
In many ways assessments not only show the progress of a student but provide the opportunity for growth as a teacher. Students gain knowledge to become successful learners. I use Marzano’s instructional strategy because it shows a positive demeanor in a teacher. Being able to communicate with the students shows me that we are all on the same page. Using this type of strategy helps my lesson plan to be more organized and useful. The whole point of this lesson is to get the students engaged with the content provided.
I believe that students too must make a missions and vision statement to go along with their commitment contracts as well to emphasize the important role that technology will have in their life during the next school year. The more educators and students know about technology, the better their chances will become to successfully reach their goals in their respective areas of teaching and learning experiences. As an educator, the comprehensive classroom technology plan has provided an abundant wealth of communication avenues. I can utilize technology to keep my students on track and parents up to date in real time. It is important to maintain positive relationships between educators and students so that the student will choose to be a more productive pupil for the educator.
Technology demonstrates a vast impact on how well people will think, learn and interact. The development of technology involved in the classroom yields to advancement for communication and collaboration within the educational community. This involvement will focus on each group; students, parents, community and global community. Finally, it is important to communicate desired learning goals to students to help them understand what is expected of them. Understanding how to establish clear learning goals will greatly improve my effectiveness as a teacher by helping me determine where I can offer flexible options and provide scaffolding. This environment is one in which a child can grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. As an educator it is not only my job, but it is my hope to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas and to have them become life-long learners. The most important thing I can do is to provide an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, invites the sharing of ideas, and shows respect for self and others. To create this type of environment I must be a guide and a model. A child's natural curiosity can be a powerful tool used to direct his/her learning.
