Heaven on Earth Nursing Home is fortunate to have leaders in place that have complementary strengths and interests. Mr. Rorer, the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) has demonstrated talent for managing the financial interests of the organization and has worked to ensure the nursing home has the opportunity for growth and development for the future with availability of financial resources. Ms. Carmen, the Director of Nursing (DON), has demonstrated awareness that the future of all businesses is also dependent on continued development and understanding that financial viability is not the only consideration of a successful business—especially a business with a role in health care and support of the community.
As a church-owned facility, the financial picture of the organization is important, but there must also be a unified approach to community support. As described in Burns, Bradley, & Weiner (2012) “particularly in the nonprofit sector, the organization’s overall performance depends on a balanced scorecard of outcome measures, and that must be communicated effectively to external stakeholders” (pg. 45). Currently, there is a clear delineation between strict financial considerations and other quality outcome indicators. In order for the company to thrive, these goals must become aligned. There is also disconnect in communication from hospital administration to the Board of Directors which makes it difficult for the board members to publicly support decisions and counter negative perceptions in the community. Finally, there is a lack of professional respect in many conversations that have taken place among various individuals. These are situations that must be addressed in a timely manner to avoid detrimental effects on t...

This internal analysis of Sunshine Generations Nursing Home will depict Nursing Home’s uniqueness in the market and its ability to remain competitive while still providing exceptional care to its residents.
After analyzing the Coastal Medical Center, it is apparent that the employees and staff have no conception of the mission, vision, and values of this health care facility. In addition to this lack of structure, CMC has many projects in the midst of production that lack support of a common goal, employees are unsatisfied with their jobs, the two boards lack ability to agree on strategic decisions for the organization,, and the medical center has a dismal reputation when it comes to quality care.
The Community South Medical Center, a large urban profit-based health center, is equipped to deal with many comprehensive health care issues. Although the medical center has an excellent reputation, analysis has shown that they are now lacking in shortage of clinical staff, non-interfacing technologies, outdated infrastructures, abatement of JCAHO conformity, and fluctuation in demographics. In addition, many of the local high paying businesses have left the area. This could be due to competitive issues or since the demographics changed, they no longer had the consumer advantage for the services that they offered.
The facts bear out the conclusion that the way healthcare in this country is distributed is flawed. It causes us to lose money, productivity, and unjustly leaves too many people struggling for what Thomas Jefferson realized was fundamental. Among industrialized countries, America holds the unique position of not having any form of universal health care. This should lead Americans to ask why the health of its citizens is “less equal” than the health of a European.

Consulting for the Caring Angel Hospital Working in the health care industry takes a lot of courage and patience in order to deal with different individual’s personalities and to be equipped to handle stressful situations according to the issues at hand. As a senior consultant at the Practical Health Care Consulting firm, my supervisor has instructed me to spend three months at the Caring Angel Hospital. While at the hospital there are a few tasks for improving the quality of care, adding value to the organization, improving employee morale, etc. Although these obstacles will be a challenge, there is an opportunity for improvement. This will allow the Caring Angel Hospital to increase revenue and accomplish the goals that are established.
