The sole purpose of our study is to identify whether or not an association is present between a missing parent and behavior problems amongst children following into adulthood. A single survey requests substantial amounts of personal information as it relates to the absence of a parent and behavioral problems which follow. Surveys collected data on 203 subjects, ranging in ages (18+), participation was strictly voluntary and questions related to any behavioral problems during adolescence or adulthood. Each survey included a precise set of questions each pertaining to an individual's past behaviors. By identifying a direct connection between parents either present or not and behavioral problems will allow professionals to better understand the whys behind each subject's behavior. Knowledge of specific vulnerabilities is essential in allocating a greater awareness for the individual. The study will create a lot of positive feedback because of its ability in assisting communities for development of better treatment programs for future generations to come. More importantly, improvement in counseling methods overall can result as well as having more accessible therapies for individuals. Professionals like scientists, researchers, educators, and administrators, will practice more useful methods having a greater knowledge towards analysis of subjects personal health evaluations. For a representative sample we traveled to separate regions in El Paso exclusively looking for participants; two at planet fitness gyms (eastside and westside), few recreational parks (eastside and westside), two gas stations (Northeast and Central), and four department stores (Best Buy-Eastside, Macy’s-West Side, Dillards-Westside, Target-Eastside). Additionally, University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and few grocery stores (Eastside and Westside) with the purpose of our data collection to illustrate various spread over large surface areas covered in El Paso. Surveys conducted were strictly expressed as confidential, private, and anonymous at all times. A large number of surveys were completed over the internet, via Google accounts, Facebook accounts, Linkedn profiles and few participants on Twitter. Several subjects expressed critical time constraints being an issues which resulted in non participation status of survey. Although, these subjects expressed interest in a preference for participation via the internet. So, typed paper copies were provided to subjects following step by step instructions on access to the study
