The answer to the issue lies primarily in misrepresentation of the role of a priest. For starters, a priest’s job is often thought of as one of power or control. Contrarily, it is one of teaching, guidance, and leadership. Yes, priests are a part of the Catholic hierarchy in place, but not for the purpose of establishing supremacy. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (New International Version, Cor.
