Act now and not later You can see how all of these mindsets and some of the ones we discussed earlier played out in the lives of people around us like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump just to mention a few. Since these men are with us right now, let’s shift attention to how their lives reflect these mindsets and borrow a leaf there as to how you can be successful like them. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Success Mindset Do you remember Arnold Schwarzenegger? You most likely remember him as the governor of California. He has become a household name because he decided to overcome the obstacles on his way that seemingly made his dream unachievable. Because he refused to take no for an answer, he appeared to have had a life success blueprint. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s success mindset saw him through the biggest challenges in life. Why did Schwarzenegger the bodybuilder win Mr. Universe three times and Mr. Olympia seven times? Why did the Austrian-born motion picture actor defeat incumbent Governor Gray Davis of California in 2003? He had the mindset of success and of a champion. Did you know that there was a time Arnold as a bodybuilder was allowed in the gym just three times a week? How could a professional bodybuilder succeed with that restriction? “I want to go to Reardan, “I said again. I couldn’t believe I was saying it. For me, it seemed as real as saying, “I want to fly to the moon”. (46) This quote shows that Arnold is starting to change. He makes the decision to go to Rearden in hopes that he can get a better education and be able to someday make a better life for himself. This choice is a major turning point in Arnold’s life just as flying to the moon would be for an astronaut. Arnold also shows he changing when he states “Getting to school was always an adventure. After school, I’d ride the bus to the end of the line and wait for my folks. If they didn't come, I’d start walking. Hitchhiking in the opposite direction. Somebody was usually heading back home to the rez, so I’d usually catch a ride. Three times, I had to walk the whole way home. Twenty-two miles. I got blisters each time”. (87) Arnold is willing to go through all this trouble to get to school which shows that he is starting to change from a boy who had no hope of ever leaving the rez into one that will make sacrifices, such as making the long trek to school, in order to provide himself with a better
Have you ever thought about yourself if you are in the fixed or a growth mindset? A fixed mindset person is someone who overcomes obstacles, works hard, and failure does not stop them. On the other hand a person who is in the fixed mindset is someone who is non challenge, gives up, or thinks that success is abuse. In a book called “Mindset The New Psychology of Success” the author Carol S. Dweck talks about different ways we can convert ourselves from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset and the author also talks about the qualities of the growth and fixed mindsets. In a movie“Freedom Writers” the author Erin Gruwell shows us how she was a growth minded teacher but her students were in the fixed minded group. Throughout the school year the students had a fixed mindset but as time went by the students somehow their mindsets into the growth mindset. Freedom writers illustrates the fixed mindsets of the teacher and students and a growth minded teacher who changed everything.
Matthew Arnold is said to be the beginning of popular culture in the modern age, as said by Storey. “Arnold significance is that he inaugurates a tradition, a particular way of seeing culture, a particular way of placing popular culture within the general field of culture.” This perspective is called the Arnoldian perspective (Storey, 2014, pg 18).

He was recorded as having the largest chest in bodybuilding. A lot of bodybuilders looked up to Arnold because he made the transition from bodybuilding to acting. Schwarzenegger had the support of so many people that he actually Total Recall was released during the height of his career, which made people want to see his movie. Success is a very personalized term. It can be defined in many different ways and like itself there are also many ways to achieve it. Success is a term that everyone has a different opinion on but one thing remains the same: we all want to be successful. We all want to be good at the things we desire most. Two great activists for the cause of success are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Greg Plitt. Both are men who demand great respect. Not only for being at the top of their classes but for also going beyond that and topping many of the ranks for things they are passionate about. Their success not only was noticed but radiated into the minds of people and children everywhere inspiring them to be great. Though they may have their differences both men
Introduction There was no way of knowing it at the time, but a baby boy born in Graz, Austria, was pre-destined for greatness. His father strongly encouraged him to become involved in athletics in order to develop a strong sense of determination trait that evolved into nothing short of a dogged pursuit of excellence in every aspect of his life. He participated in the sport of soccer and competed in track and field events before discovering his true passion for weight lifting at the age of 15. Three years later, he trained as a professional bodybuilder and by the age of 20, he became none other than Mr. Universe. That baby boy grew up to be ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER.

Dweck is accurate when she mentions the importance of developing a growth mindset by stating students do better in school, it encourages children to take on challenges, and that one can become smarter. A growth mindset is when a person believes they can reach their potential ability by working hard and failure is a way for them to grow. Also, a growth mindset drives motivation and achievement for children and students. Therefore, if you don’t possess a growth mindset then you have a fixed mindset, which means you are afraid of new challenges and you will not be successful in life.
Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action film icon. He was nicknamed "The Austrian Oak" and "The Styrian Oak" in his bodybuilding days, "Arnold Strong" and "Arnie" during his acting career, and more recently "The Governator" (a portmanteau of Governor and Terminator, one of his film roles).[1]
Arnold Schwarzenegger has accomplished a tremendous amount in his lifetime and it all started when he was a kid wanting to move out of his house and live the kind of life that he wanted to live. Not the life he was being forced to live. He shows us multiple times that he constantly has to improve himself in anyway possible. That he is never satisfied with what he has already done. From him giving up his first love, bodybuilding, to move into the movie industry, then take a more serious note and try and help the state of California. It is inspiring and motivation to see what this man has accomplished in his life. It only makes me think what am I doing with my life.
Arnold did not become Mr. Universe or the Governor of California all in one day. He always put time into his work, finding out what he needed to do to achieve his goal. This relates to his fourth goal: “Work your butt off.” Putting in work, no matter what the circumstance. He spoke about how he always fell down, but he never gave up. After all the experiences that he has endured, here is a quote that he has stuck with, “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” Arnold has always had the capacity to improve his skills in all
Looking at Arnold Schwarzenegger today, it is easy to get caught up in his accomplishments and achievements but his life was not always like this. Growing up was not a bright time in Arnold’s life. His father, Gustav, was a police officer in the local area where the family lived. He was also an alcoholic, who often came home drunk. “My hair was pulled and I was beat with belts,” (A+E Networks 1). Not only did Schwarzenegger have to endure physical abuse from his father but he also was emotionally abused. His older brother, who was more athletic, was favored by his dad. Gustav would make his sons fight to see which one was worthy of his love. Gustav forced Arnold to play sports in junior high so he played soccer, flag football and lifted weights.
