In the story of the Michael Vey series, Michael Vey The Last Spark by Richard Evans concluded the series with a exceptional story. Set in present time in Tuvalu, a small strand of islands in Oceania, an evil company has tried to conquer Tuvalu for themselves. The tuvalu island’s original names were soon turned into the Hatch Islands, Hatch is the last name of the evil man who was trying to overtake the whole world by supplying everyone’s energy. Also, the islands names were changed to names of Greek Gods. Some examples are he renames one island Hades, which is the Greek God of the underworld, and turns into a prison island and he renames another island Plutus, A Greek God of wealth which stored its valuable items. Hatch’s islands were runned …show more content…
One thing is the desire Enelle had to gather Tuvaluans and build an army to fight against the elgen. In the beginning of the story, Enelle was quick to gather weapons and make his way to the enslaved Tuvaluans. If Enele had not done that, the chances of the electroclan surviving would be diminished,, because Hatch would have been faster to kill them. With Enelle's fight and distraction to Hatch, it made the Elgen fight long enough so that Michael Vey could come and rescue them. Secondly, with the attempted escape by the electroclan made more events in the story possible. If they didn’t try to escape, then Jack and Ostin wouldn’t have had their chance to get help and it gave more time for Enelle and the rebels to prepare for incoming elgen forces. Also, when Jack and Ostin escaped it had contributed to the ending. If they didn’t escape then they wouldn't have been there to help Enelle defend. Also, Michael Vey would not have recognized Enelle but would recognize his best friends Jack and Ostin. Another major event that happened was when the rebels rammed the Edison with their boat, the Neuton. The powerful Edison, if not destroyed, could have fired missiles right away and tear the rebels to shreds. With the demolish of the boat, it gave the rebels more time to organize and defend the next attack. It also gave time for Jack and Ostin to arrive. Furthermore, if Michael Vey didn’t help Jack, Ostin and …show more content…
I liked the build up of the story and how they made Michael Vey more powerful than ever and it was shocking. The only thing i disliked was I felt the ending was rushed and could have been spread out more. In the end, there was lots of unanswered questions. For example, what happened to the countries with elgen’s electricity? In all, the seven book series was very enjoyable since the first book. Also, teens and adults who are into sci-fi movies and books would enjoy the vey series because all the main characters have some type of superpower and they use to attack and defend events in the series. Also, the idea of little children becoming heroes is relevant to things that happen in today’s world. This is because lots of children have been there to save or protect things in bad situations. This is also in the Vey series, but on a very different level. To sum up, the Final Spark was a great final book to a great series that was all built on
The Elgen then attack and capture the Electroclan in their hotel. It seems as if Nichelle sold them out to the Elgen, but she didn’t, she actually helped them. When Michael is captured by the Elgen Tara, Taylor’s twin sister thats works with Hatch, disgued You must get her before the Elgen or else Hatch will be able to make his army of electric youth's, which means he takes over the world. Your mission will start tomorrow so be ready. Good luck to all of you.”
The book had a few characters that I liked, but a lot of characters that I disliked. For example Yasmine was a character that I disliked. I didn’t like her because she brought pain to Paige’s life. Yasmine and Paige were best friends for months in Sixth grade. They were constantly doing fun activities together, like having sleepovers or planning each other’s birthday parties, but all that was ruined by a mistake Yasmine made. Paige and Yasmine were at a school dance, when
Once I get past all of the rambling I did in the past paragraphs, I honestly really enjoyed the book. Though it wasn't like most of the other books I’ve read (meaning I didn't cry during the process of reading it), the characters were just as provokingly interesting as the characters in other stories, it was a little edgy and made me want to yell at it, shouting at Sam when she wouldn’t let Tyler play video games with Danny, or Danny when he called to have Sam and Tyler taken to a separate facility. Overall, this book opened me up to something that just isn't a romance novel. This story really shows that there are people with a lot of difficulties in their lives, and that’s what I liked the most about it.
During the War for American Independence, 78 men were commissioned as general officers into the Continental Army by the Continental Congress. Many of these generals commanded troops with differing levels of competence and success. George Washington is typically seen as most important general, however throughout the war a number of his subordinates were able to distinguish themselves amongst their peers. One such general was Nathanael Greene. At the end of the Revolutionary War, Greene would become Washington’s most important subordinate, as demonstrated by Edward Lengel’s assessment of Greene as “the youngest and most capable of Washington’s generals.” Washington and Greene developed a strong, positive and close relationship between themselves. Greene began his life in the military after having been raised a Quaker. With limited access to literature and knowledge in his younger years, Greene became an avid reader which equipped him with the knowledge necessary to excel as a general during the war. Through his devoted study of military operations, firsthand experience and natural abilities as a soldier, Greene became an excellent military commander. He would become known for his successful southern campaign, during which, he loosened British control of the South and helped lead the war to its climax at Yorktown. Throughout the war, he was involved in a number high profile battles where he built a reputation of being an elite strategist who also understood unconventional warfare, logistics, and the importance of military-civil affairs and had a natural political/social acumen. The thesis of this paper is that Greene’s proven reputation of being a soldier, strategist and statesman would cause him to become the second greates...
Was he a reckless idiot? That is the big question. This is what people always seem to talk about when they talk about Chris McCandless. There are many people who think that Chris McCandless was a reckless idiot who was mentally ill, or something else was wrong with Chris. It seems that almost everybody that met Chris thought maybe Chris was crazy or had problems. Here are just a few things that people said about Chris and his state of mind. Pg 40 Zarza admits saying, "he was always going on about trees and nature and weird stuff like that. We all thought he was missing a few screws. Pg 42 Charlie said, "seemed like a kid who was looking for something." Pg 45 Burres said "I thought Alex had lost his mind when he told us about his 'great Alaskan odyssey, ' as he called it."
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
The ending of this book was a cliffhanger. In my opinion that is the worse kind of ending, but that’s how that writing persuades the reader to get the next book in the series. Without giving too much away about the end of the story, it was very unexpected. To be
I loved how we were able to see the evolution of Mike’s mental illness, and see how the charges that were pressed against him affected him in many aspects of his life, such as getting a job. I loved that we were able to see him “recover” and decide that he was going back to school as well as that he knew he had to be taking his medication. I wish we could have seen more of the stories of the patients that Earley talked to. While we got a large overview of their lives and how they ended up where they were, I wish we could have seen more of what happened after they were released, or moved other places. There were also many things that surprised me; I didn’t realize how many people in America were affected by mental illnesses and how a majority of them were homeless. I also didn’t realize how many times that they were brought back and forth from jail to the streets. There was one lady that was talked about in the book, who has been awaiting trial for 3 years because she is still not competent enough to stand
Did you know that the average gender wage gap in America, as of 2015, was
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
Children fool around every day with parental supervision always there to catch the youth when they are at risk of vulnerability. Without parental supervision, they need to be self-conscious of their own well-being. Once a child becomes an adult, they learn to take their own path through life with no safety net and to take responsibility for their own actions, unlike Chris McCandless. The novel, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, exposes a cocky and arrogant, Chris McCandless, who is to blame for his own death, because he lives a life of taking risks, and depends on those that care for him to save him from the edge of disaster.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel because it connected the dots on how the Narnia series started. I would definitely choose another book by this author because he makes fictional stories that you cans apply to biblical aspects. I liked the fact that the story connected with the others in the series. I did not like how some spots in the plot were dry and not pertaining to the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of the Narnia series.
“I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul and to me, this has always been enough.” That is a quote from The Notebook, a famous book written by Nicholas Sparks in 1996. This quotation inspires people to have faith that love is the only thing in the world that they need. They need not have prosperity or fame. They simply need an individual to love with all their hearts for all eternity. The world is a place where love seems to somehow find its way through in the most difficult of times. Nicholas Sparks is a dedicated author, father, husband, and donor who sees that clearly and demonstrates that in his novels. To understand the genuine significance of Nicholas Sparks and his novels, one must know his background, the truth about what the critics think about his novels and his influence on today’s society.
series for two reasons. The first reason is because it ties up all the questions I had from the other books. This book really was a good ending, for me at least. And the second reason is because it’s just a great book. It has mystery, suspense, humor, action and many more things that keep you from putting the book down. On a scale of one to ten I would rate this ten and it is also my number one favorite book (so far).
...ove this book because the characters are developed very well and have such interesting stories! I also love the mystery; it’s like I never know what will happen next and I love books that aren’t predictable. And lastly, I love the romance between Tris and Four. They are so perfect together, and I love reading about them.
