Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958, and was an entertainer nearly all his life. The Jackson family had 9 children: 6 sons and 3 daughters. However, Michael’s singing and dancing were something nobody could compare to, marking him as a musical prodigy. Joseph Jackson, the father, believed his sons had talent so he formed a musical group in the early 1960’s. At first the preforms consisted of Michael’s older brothers. When he was five years old, Michael soon got to join his siblings and became the group’s lead vocalist in the group. He was remarkably talented and did not hesitate to show the world. The Jackson 5 was when the Jackson’s lives soon changed better. In 1968, Berry Gordy, impressed by the group, signed them to his label.
Michael Jackson soon became a solo artist and did not disappoint when it came to originality and quality of his music. By the 1980’s, he had gained more popularity than when he was in The Jackson 5. When the song “Thriller” was released in 1982, it sold the most amounts of copies worldwide. However, in the 1990s, Michael Jackson’s fame turned to the worst at one point. He began acting strange and different than what he used to; making him a constant target for news and rumors even though he was involved in numerous charitable acts. Despite all of the arguments made accusing Michael, he was and still is one of the most influential musicians of this era.
To begin with, Michael Jackson made numerous amounts of contributions to many things throughout his time. One of his main contributions or influences was in music. The artists that came after Jackson were influenced by him, one way or another. He was someone nobody could avoid; an inspiration to most musicians.
In conclusion, Michael Jackson was a pop legend that many people aspire to be. His musical talent was like no other and his influence greatly impacted the music world for the better. In his years of living, he accomplished what many could only hope to accomplish in their dreams. He was a successful, talented artist that inspires not only musical artists, but everyday people to this day. His contributions and influences to music made a huge impact on the world for the better. He will forever be known as the “The King of Pop” since he truly lived up to the name.
