The lake is one symbol that helps illustrate the theme of this story. “The Indians had called it Wakan, a reference to the clarity of its waters” (573). The lake is used in the story to symbolize the narrator’s moral condition. “Greasy Lake was once known for the clarity of its waters but now its fetid and murky, the mud banks glittering with broken glass and strewn beer cans and the charred remains of bonfires” (Grace). What imagery probably stuck in my head the most was "there was a single ravaged island a hundred yards from shore, so stripped of vegetation it looked as if air force had strafed it." as Boyle put it. Throughout the years the lake turned into a party place where wild teens went to drink, smoke pot, and cause trouble. The characters go to “Greasy Lake” because everybody goes there. They wanted to experience the remot...

Whether they are exploring new, exciting places where you live, or far away from home, sightseeing is one of the greatest pleasures to do in life. I have been to a numerous number of places across the world, and I have to say that Hawaii and San Francisco are both wonderful places to visit. Hawaii and San Francisco, two of the top ten tourist destinations in the United States that attract people from all over the world, resulting in the astonishing landmarks such as Pearl Harbor and Alcatraz Island.

Let me begin with the Finger lake region. This region is located in central New York and has a lake in it called Keuka Lake, this is one of the five main lakes in this region. On the east branch of Keuka Lake lies the hamlet of Keuka Park. This hamlet is small and quite but has many people living in it. There is beauty, everywhere you look. This I shall describe. There are many hills, trees, and woods that bring a sense of calm. The shore of the lake is also a very calming. Students go down to the shore at point nemo to have fun and go the lake. They enjoy activities such swimming, canoeing and sun bathing.
I had recently watched a documentary show on these Giant Salamanders, and the researchers were overturning rocks and searching in crevices waist deep in these very waters. The Nantahala River, located near Bryson City North Carolina, is home to many aquatic creatures, including this elusive Giant Salamander.
When I first arrived at Indian Creek, I lived in an apartment complex called Autumn Chase. The buildings were made out of red and brown bricks. The park had many features. There was a small little kid slide that had stairs, a yellow tube, a car wheel, and a little hood over it all. Then for the big kids, there was a ticktacktoe chart, and swirling latter, rings that you climb up, a normal slide, and three combined slides that had a different pattern. The park was the first and last place I spoke with Triston...
To help counteract the bank erosion along the part of the river that cuts through the town, people have filled in parts of the river with rock, as well as leveling the banks of the river to make it more of a slope. The goal in this was to slow down the erosion rates and to try and control the river. When the town decided to build a dam, the sediment that the river will typically move, piled up behind the dam and was unable to go through. Now that the dam isn’t there anymore, the sediment is able to flow down the river to different areas. Due to the fact that there is human development in this area, there is silt and chemicals, along with other substances that are dumped into the river from the towns and farmers upstream, which can affect the plants and animals. These pollutants include pesticides and manure, as well as other wastes. According to Minnesota’s Pollution Control Agency, the main impairment of the Zumbro River near Mazeppa is turbidity (“Minnesota’s Impaired Waters and TMDLS”). All of these pollutants can cause health risks if they get into the drinking water, along with causing plants and animals to

...autiful and exciting place. The water is unlike any other body of water that I had ever laid my eyes upon. Worthy of the nickname ‘God’s swimming pool”, it has a seemingly endless horizon that reaches as far as the eye can see. The sand is so fine and powdery and it amazes me at how it can change textures with just a little bit of water. Perhaps the most amazing part of the beach is the vast array of wildlife that inhabits the area. From fish to crabs, you will never see the same creature twice. Each animal has their own distinct characteristics which make it exciting to explore and try to find more. My favorite place in the world is definitely the beach and I highly recommend visiting and seeing it with your own two eyes. It is an infinite world of expression, a paradise of color. There is no possibility of disappointment when it comes to the serenity of the ocean.
The most developed of tourism area in Lombok is Senggigi. Senggigi and it's immediate surrounds contain the most developed tourism facilities in the coastal tourism strip that is spread along a 30-kilometer strip of the coastal road north from Mataram. A large number of hotels and resorts offer accommodations ranging from budget to luxurious. Approximately 1–5 kilometers offshore from the mainland lie the three highly popular Gili Islands. Although rapidly changing in character, the Gili's still provide both a lay-back backpacker's retreat and a high class resort
