Mexico - A Special Place It seemed at first like any other family trip with mom all excited and planning, my step dad telling everyone not to pack to much, getting on another plane, and then we land. First thing that I noticed was the heat, it made my knees buckle. Then looking around and seeing all the men with guns, everyone seems so serious going through the lines that have green and red light that either say that you can go or you have to be stopped and searched. It was scary seeing all of this right before my eyes. Everyone was speaking a language that I wasn’t understanding. All sorts of people running out to us trying to give us rides or selling stuff, I don’t really know because I don’t know what they were saying. Once we found the bus that my mom had reserved it was a long, hot, bumpy ride through poverty and dirtiness. What seemed like a ride that wouldn’t stop and seeing accidents and almost being in one myself, we finally reached a green, tropical area along the beach, where our condo was. The moment we got into the condo we all got our bathing suits on and ran to the beach. The first thing that I noticed was how hot the sand was. The sand wasn’t think the sand that was have in Washington, it was soft and clean and dry that was without rocks and sticks in it. We found a place to lay and put our stuff under one of the large umbrellas. When we went to go into the water I noticed something that I will never forget. The Mexicans where roped off from our area and all lined up wanting to sell us jewelry, shirts, hats, and pottery. My brother said that they tried to sell him some marijuana, but no one tried to sell me any of that stuff. Which is a good thing because I am only nine. I didn’t go to the ocean as fast as my brother and younger sister did. Or I didn’t do what my older sister did, which is flirt with the pool boys and try to get her tan started. I stayed with the people selling stuff. I kept thinking that I could swim any time but I could never talk and bargain and try to learn there language. I got so lost and I think that sometimes they had me say the wrong things because they laughed after having me say some phrase of theirs. I liked being the center of attention. I have learned so much about Mexico by just trying to talk to the venders. I even made friends that I think I will always remember and try to keep in touch with. &nb... ... middle of paper ... ...as the first trip. Being here at home and surrounded by our life with money, cars, school, and friends, I forget about the different life that others had in Mexico. I feel the excitement coming back to me every time mom wants to take a trip there. My first trip changed my whole perspective for other cultures and relly got me thinking about it would be like if I lived in Mexico or if I had to go through all of the poverty. It make me think how different my life would be if I lived there and thankful that I live where I do, but yet so excited to go down and meet all of the friendly people that can even remember me and my name when I see them. Mexico made me notice that with all of the friendly people down in Mexico and their not so great life style, that I now have a better understanding for everything that I have. Even though my life, my family life is different because it is just my mom and I now, when we go to Mexico I still feel the same way about Mexico as when I had my big family. So I think that the place impacts me now with the same feelings no matter who I go with, it is just a special place. No matter how many times that I go to Mexico it is like the first time every time.
Growing up in a Mexican-American family can be very fun and crazy. Having two different perspectives on two different cultures almost daily really shapes you to become a certain way as you grow up, which is what happened to me. Ever since I was about three months old I have been taking trips to my parents home town for a month time each time we have gone. Practically growing up in both Mexico and the United States for six years has really helped me understand my cultural background and the different parts of my whole culture, such as the food, heritage, language and culture.
In conclusion, for many, Mexico is simply a country on a map. Even becoming a place that they wish to keep from and forget. For others like me, however; it was a place that hasn’t only reconnected me with my culture, but a home where I had the good fortune of reuniting me with my loved ones. Also, having had helped me come to terms with myself, my trip allowed me to find myself and recover what I had left
As a viewer, the documentary’s intention to inform is more completely fulfilled by research conducted beyond the scope of the camera lens. Had I never written this paper, for instance, the reason for all the violence embedded within the subject matter would remain as enigmatic as the documentary itself.
...rs emigrating from Mexico may now pass those beliefs of strong relationships in all aspects of their lives onto their offspring and help create a similar attitude in the Mexican-American people.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
Mexico is bordered by the United States on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea on the east, and Guatemala and Belize on the south. It is characterized by an extraordinary diversity in topography and climate and is crossed by two major mountain chains, the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental. The high central plateau between these two mountain ranges historically funneled most of the human population toward the center of this region. Mexico features volcanic peaks, snow-capped mountains, tropical rain forests, and internationally famous beaches. Mexico City is an enormous metropolitan area and dominates the rest of the country's culture, economy, and politics. Nearly one-fifth of the nation's population lives in the immediate vicinity of the capital. Mexico City is also a central hub for Mexico's transportation network—including railroads, highways, and airlines.
The wonders of Mexico are astonishing and I was just lucky enough to see them. From the ancient pyramids built by the Aztecs to the ancient watering hole I was privileged to swim in and even the breathtaking shows they put on at the hotel.
Mexico is a country that is led by a federation government which is democratic, representative, and republican based on presidential system since Constitution of 1917. Within the United States there is a huge diversity of cultures. Culture is many different things, it is a tradition, it is the values and beliefs passed down from generation to generation, and culture is the identity of any country. Culture helps to identify one cultural group from the other. Although we may live in the same country, city, or state we still differ from one another by the way we dress, our beliefs, language, traditions, music, art, food, religion, and politics.
I have never waited so long in my life, it took and hour and a half just to get three bags out to where the pickup was. We finally got our bags and took a shuttle to the Crown Paradise Hotel. This Hotel was so nice. It had a mini golf course, three pools(1 inside,2 outside), A basketball court, a movie theatre, etc. My hotel room was also super nice there were too connecting rooms so finally for once I got my own bed. The first day I did the most common and went to the beach. The sand was super hot and I’m not too fond of salt water, it just makes swimming in the ocean ten times worse. Then at night I played ping pong and pool against my dad. Then the rest of the week I would go swim in the outside pool or play futsal(soccer on pavement). I always came back with at least one blister on my foot. The worst thing about this trip was the sunburn, in cancun it's way hotter and it's so easy too get burned. This also made it hard because, since the water is so bad whenever I wanted water I would have to walk all the way to the elevator and then all the way down this long hallway to the gift shop and would buy a water bottle then go all the way back to my room. The food although was super good besides there breakfast and ketchup. The last day was the hardest it took so long trying to get on the plane and the car ride was so boring. But that’s my favorite
I got to experience living in two different places. They were both very different but, at the same time they had some things in common. I got the privilege of living in Mexico for about three years which was when I was five and once I turn seven I moved back to the United States where I had to repeat first grade. Living in Mexico and living in the United States was great but, the value of money, the language, and the weather were some of the situations that could be easily compared and contrast.
We got off from plane and headed towards the exit. My cousins and my family case worker were already their waiting for us. I was so shocked and the same time I was so happy to meet with my cousins after 6 years. This days too when I went to airport reminds me of that day. We collect bags and headed towards my cousin’s house, I was so hungry and I asked my cousin “what kind of food you made” she knew that we love Nepali cosine so she had made Nepali cosine. We ate food after that I went upstairs to rest. I was so excited and little bit scared to be here and start my new life in USA because I knew that USA life is different than Nepalese life style, however that day was my best day ever in my life. I felt like my dream came true. I had a lot of things going through my mind. Like what am I going to do, what is best for me things like
