The Mexican American War Ana Introduction Have you ever heard of the Mexican-American war? This event is when the U.S doubled their land by taking 7 states from Mexico. The U.S was a bully to Mexico by taking advantage of them while they were weak and vulnerable. In particular, United States decision to steal the Northwestern part of Mexico was an unjust act since Mexico had allowed fellow Americans to immigrate to their country with only 3 simple rules. Alongside with that Mexico helped the U.S gain their independence from the British making it a clear case of imperialism. The Spaniards supplied America with cattle, uniforms, and gun powder, all necessities for a huge war. Spain helped America to get revenge on Britain for its defeat in the seven-year war and increase Spanish territory at Britain’s expense. California and Texas once belonged to Mexico but because America used military force and had greed for land,power,and money.So before all this was happening, back before the war the Americans wanted to move to Texas for alot more land. But a lot of Americans wanted to move in. The American immigrants were moving into Mexico too fast and started breaking the three important rules.There were more Americans than Mexicans in Texas.
