A. Indicate the personal skills and character traits which qualify you as a SAGE MENTOR?
Being at Towson provides multiple opportunities for students to grow. While our skills and characteristics are improving every day, my strongest skills are in communication, organizing, and time management. In addition I am honest and committed. Being a mentor is all about communication and commitment. As a mentor the more you reach out to your mentee and show them support the more they can use you as a resource. My goal is to have the opportunity to help someone have a positive experience at Towson. It is so important for students to feel like they have community that is willing to lift them up. I enjoy being around people, and the more I can network and build bond with the better. You never know who can be in your life and support you. in addition because I am a dance major I do not get the opportunity to meet a lot of people outside of the dance department. I want to spend some time creating relationships with diverse people. I believe that being a mentor will help me pay more attention to detail. I have always been interested in how relationships and experiences affect people. I believe current SAGE mentors do a great job of analyzing what mentees need and creating events that fit those needs; and I would like to be a part of that experience. Being a mentor does not have to stop at SAGE. Its individuals it is our duty to help others and uplift them when they are struggling. You never know the impact they can have on your life. While I look forward to positively support an individual(s) on a personal level, i also look forward to what i can learn from my mentee.
