“You must work with history to make history,” that is my aphorism. I have been stating this original quote since I was in the seventh grade, and I wanted to be a singer and perform with exceptional artist like Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, and even Jennifer Hudson. But as I grew up and progressed to the eighth grade I wanted to be a rapper and perform with people like Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa and become famous like The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac. Then in the tenth and eleventh grade I got into the technology and production of music and fell in love with music. I wanted to bring what is called Underground Rap to the surface. I wanted to work with lyricists like MGK, Logic, Earl Sweatshirt and vocalists like August Alsina and Jason Derulo, etc. With all these ideas swirling around in my head I ask myself the important questions. What is life without music? What is a movie with a soundtrack? Most importantly… what is a culture influenced by media without anything decent to listen to or watch? Even though recorded music goes as far back as 1857, it wasn’t really turned into a commercial profession until around the 1900s. Because of the primitive nature of the recording equipment, the recordist acted as more of an archivist rather than a producer in the fact that he was just trying to capture the music onto a medium suitable for reproduction. The composers, arrangers, and band leaders of the day had final say in regards to the direction and style of the music, just as many still do today.
Rap music has given me personally something to look up to. Not a role model but hope of continuing my dreams because rappers successfully made it. “For what’s money without happiness, or hard times without the people you love” is from a song called “Love Yourz” by J. Cole. He clearly understands how there is “beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success” because he’s lived that life. Other songs such as “2Face” or “The Autograph” were instantly relatable to me because he has been through several struggles from the beginning of his childhood. Cole’s father left when he was six leaving his mother and younger brother alone. Cole became “the man of the house” but becoming a rapper is not as easy as it seems. Cole’s messages in these two songs are relative because I too, have had several issues with my mother and father creating a sense of lonesome. Hearing music like Coles helped me overcome my

People from many generations may think that today’s music shows virtually nothing. This generations rap music mainly circles around how much money you receive from rapping, how much women you receive from rapping, and how much drugs you receive from rapping. Such work can motivate many young people who have no specific goal in life. Personally, I added Hamilton as new role model to my life. Also, such work can give us a new prospective of life by seeing the world from the eyes of those historical figures. The Hamilton mixtape music had a great impact on me with its melody, lyrics, and diversity. The idea of this work is unique and creative; it can even provoke a revolution in art and the study of history. As I recognized, songs have been performed so many times that singers harmonize with each other. Listening to the songs only paints a picture of the events, and moves my feelings as if I attended those events. This work is such an electric current that it recharges my ambition, determination, and
