Medical assistant career fascinates me for its diversity in medical profession which varies from hospital, clinics, family practices and many more. The great part of this career is that every day you will be able to assist different patients with different services, have access to more hands on procedures, work in a group with other healthcare providers, build trust, and share constructive ideas about medical world. Last year, I had spent most of my time doing research at the Freshman Research Initiative program, prepared to graduate, and get accepted to work as a lab researcher. Since medical assistant can decide to work either at an administrative or clinic, it is necessary that basic medical skills are needed in all critical situations; required skills are CPR, minor treatment, intake assessment, vision testing, wounds care, crutch teaching, and stocking examination rooms. Since medical assistant is flexible to organize materials and procedures around their healthcare facility, they need to stay sane and handle a critical situation following appropriate procedures and policy setting up by their healthcare facility. I found this to be fascinating because medical assistants have different tasks and keep everything fresh and new in their minds so they can work at their highest mindset. Therefore, medical assistants will not do the same task day in and out. Their salary often varies due to certain factors and depends on specific profession such as pediatric, cancer, anesthesia, cardiac, and many. Healthcare experience and additional non-healthcare skills are often a plus to get a higher payment in this field because the first person patients will meet when they visit a healthcare facility is medical assistant. This year, medical assistant is in demand and certain states provide good salary and benefits that make relocating appealing. The highest paying and job openings states for medical assistants are Texas, California, and Michigan. Since I decide to work in Houston or Austin as a medical assistant, I acknowledge that many local clinics and universities in these cities are in need of medical assistants to assist the delivery of patient care and office
