Growing up in this day of time, one is constantly surrounded by social media, affecting all of us in some kind of way. Social media is at the touch of our fingertips, within seconds, one can search the news that happened a minute ago and get the latest details. We are able to follow up with the most cutting-edge trends and the latest gossip going around. Social media, being one of the biggest social identity components, can leave teenagers and younger adults pressured to socially construct their identity, that including television, the internet, and social network. Whether we realize it or not, social media plays a big role in our daily lives, people watch the news, their favorite television shows and learn something new here and there; television is a part of our lifestyle.
Teens that used to hang out outside of school have now turned to these sites to talk and hang out “virtually.” Could you imagine growing up... ... middle of paper ... ...g our society and has greater effect on teens. Parents should be aware of what social media sites their child is using and how much they are on them. Social media has turned from a good thing to a thing that many are addicted to. Social media has rapidly increased in the past few years, and has become one of the most significant parts of our daily lives. With websites such as Facebook and Twitter, we are now able to communicate with people half a world away. With just one click, you are able to keep in touch with relatives, gawk at the latest celebrity gossip, and even see what your friends had for breakfast. However, with access to unlimited sources of information, many of us have grown dependent on our phones and computers. Teens, in particular, are one of the most prominent age groups affected by this epidemic.
The world of mass communication is a world that is continuously growing and modernizing. Mass communication can be defined in so many different ways but its general purpose is to target a large audience of people at once. This semester we have covered many areas of mass communication that have really stuck with me and opened my eyes to how extensive our media coverage really is. Overall, the one chapter that stuck with me the most is the use of the internet in the mass communication world. The internet has become such an important resource and outlet that allows people not only to communicate with one another but to receive news as well.
All in all, internet has lots of significant importance about a lot of issues. It is clear that the internet is a positive development for news reporting. Due to the internet's effectiveness and facilities for news reporting, everyone can contribute to this development because of the internet's dynamics. But if the internet restricted in the future, everything about the news will never be as before due to dynamism of it. If everyone's interests about the news on the internet every country, every company will grow up and more effective than its older situation again due to dynamism of the internet.
Forever, communication has taken a long time, from the Pony Express in the 1800s to the modern-day hassle of sending messages across the world to loved ones. But, social media has improved many of these problems, now, within a few clicks and snaps, your message can be visible to anyone who you allow. With a modern society growing as rapidly as it does “we don’t have a choice whether we do social media, the question is how well we do it.” Social media has become widespread in our societies and it’s for the good. Social media plays a key role in the economy and society. It is used for marketing and advertising, photo-sharing, and messaging friends.
And over past several years, people are taking countless advantages from this networking. It has drastically has increased the ease of delivering international news to people as well as raising awareness for social justice problems, giving people information about anything within seconds. This method of online interaction has also made a huge, but positive change in the way people learn in today’s society, especially younger generations. They are able to connect with online teachers and tutorials that help them with their school work as well as teaching them skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. Lastly, social media has played a very dominating role in businesses and marketing, helping companies advertise and promote themselves through the world of online interactive networks.
(Mesch 2009) The purpose of this report is to share the impacts of the technology, which it has on our daily routines. “Technology” itself is a very extensive term to use. The daily inventions of new Gadgets, advancement in the fields of computers, health, entertainment and transportation are all paramount parts of technology. Due to this vastness of the topic the report will focus on the effects that Social Networking or Social Media have on young generation. The involvement of children in many social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace etc.
In the current time, it seems like one cannot go a day without using at least one social media website. This might be especially true among groups of teenagers and young adults. Social media became a vital part of daily life that feeds people with several types of information constantly. Political news is a type of information that can reach the people through the means of social media. Since presidents are constantly seeking new strategies to increase their communication with the public in order to spread their political message, they utilize the different social media websites.
Digital communication has become the most frequented and effective platform of our generation’s form of instant communication. Within the most recent years of our technological development, we were able accelerate our communication skills via popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These new platforms have allowed us to advance our society in a unified channel, where everyone is connected anywhere in the world at any time. Due to the fact that social media is a relatively new and growing platform, we have come across issues that we are beginning to fall in the allure of getting lost in our own fictional persona’s, while losing touch with ourselves in the real world. Due to the fact of how relevant and how it shares significance today, in a world filled with instant communication and social media, people are allowed to express who they are to mass amounts of people every day.
