Measuring Locus of Control Throughout life, we find ourselves in the position of believing without seeing. This could be regarding faith, since whomever we worship tends to be more conceptual, even though man has rendered images, which may or may not capture the likeness or essence of the person, God, spiritual being or perhaps energy itself. The principle of credulity, the will to believe and the role of rationality and evidence all play crucial roles while attempting to explain religious experience. The principle of credulity states that religious experiences should be taken at their face value when we have no positive reason to doubt them. William James' The will to believe suggests that perhaps proof, rationality, and scientific investigation are not the appropriate or relevant methods for deciding issues raised by religious experience. Lastly, religious experience claims direct and immediate awareness that is not dependent on direct sense experience or on reason. When reading, “An Open Letter to Students: On Having Faith and Thinking for Yourself”, C. Terry Warner (1971) expounds concerning the conflict between knowledge and faith in our lives. In doing so Warner asserts how people assume if they have knowledge then they cannot have faith. The reason for this separation is the misconception humans have concerning knowledge. According to Warner, the misconception humans have towards knowledge is, we are centered in the assumption that knowledge exists as a collection of facts which can all fit together nicely into a puzzle, or as Warner states, a large picture of human reality. Warner connects the misconception of knowledge with faith which he identifies as spiritual beliefs one holds even though these beliefs can be disproved and shaken by facts of knowledge. Warner brings forth the idea in which faith is not searched for in hopes of gaining secular knowledge, but in hopes of acquiring divine security. He affirms these misconceptions on secular knowledge and faith and provides reasons why humans believe they can have only one or the other.
Abstract- The control limits for exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) varies with time and approaches_asymptotic limit as the time passes. Each individual has his or her own set of values. These values determine how we will act in a given situation; what decisions we will make based on these values. These actions and decisions are going to be different from one person to the next because each of us has our own set of values. Many of these values have a basis in a person’s religious upbringing and how they define their own personal religion. This paper will show how my own actions and decisions are based on my values regarding my religious viewpoint. My religious viewpoint is that I neither believe nor disbelieve in God, or any god for that matter, and because of this ambivalence, my values, and therefore how I act in a given situation, is based on my own morality developed from my social and life experiences rather than theological doctrine.

In today’s modern western society, it has become increasingly popular to not identify with any religion, namely Christianity. The outlook that people have today on the existence of God and the role that He plays in our world has changed drastically since the Enlightenment Period. Many look solely to the concept of reason, or the phenomenon that allows human beings to use their senses to draw conclusions about the world around them, to try and understand the environment that they live in. However, there are some that look to faith, or the concept of believing in a higher power as the reason for our existence. Being that this is a fundamental issue for humanity, there have been many attempts to explain what role each concept plays. It is my belief that faith and reason are both needed to gain knowledge for three reasons: first, both concepts coexist with one another; second, each deals with separate realms of reality, and third, one without the other can lead to cases of extremism.
The locus of control is the main aspect of Julian Rotter’s theory which falls under the social-cognitive perspective. The locus control basically consists in one’s general experiences about whether one’s efforts can accomplish desired results or reinforcements. People that have an internal locus of control believe that they are able to accomplish their goals or reinforcements through their work and effort. Contrarily, people with an external locus of control believe that their accomplishments and failures are governed and controlled by external forces such as luck or fate.
Faith as a belief without sufficient evidence is focused on the fact that humans are primarily thinking things so what matter most is what I think. The ultimate love view says that humans are more loving beings than thinking beings s what matters most is what I love. If we are thinking things then it implies that we have a choice as to what we believe in, so we can choose to believe in God or not to believe in God. However if we are loving things, then we do not have control over our desires; only God can change what we really want. If we have the belief view, we act based on what we think, but the love view says that we act based on our desires and that shapes how we think. Education for the belief view of faith is focused on information for our thinking brains while education in the faith is love view is more dedicated towards formation of our loves. The Locus of Control assessment shows how much a person believes they have control over the events that occur within their life. However, I am a person that is multitasking I prefer to work alone so I can hold self-accountable for my actions, although the field I am employed in requires my working with a team. I retain shared information, think it over then discuss to see if new options arise. My score was a 4 which to me means I am a person with an internal locus of control. However, a person with external locus control blames the events in their lives on outside forces (Paul et. al, 2017). Moreover, Multiple Intelligence assessments is an assessment which shows the different ways a person learn which include eight bits of intelligence that influence the way person processes information.

To others faith is something that they use to have confidence about their daily lives and to many skeptics it is a complete waste of time. These skeptics say that having faith is a lost cause capable of giving no answers towards the understanding of who we are and what our purpose is. They say that if you can't see God, then he beyond a doubt cannot exist. Is seeing really believing, is having faith just one big hoax? Faith goes beyond seeing and believing, it starts with an action, with taking a step, with taking a risk. An explanation isn't always necessary in life.
