John Forbes Nash Jr. was born on June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia. John grew up to be one of the greatest mathematicians of his generation. Nash’s works in game theory, differential geometry, and particle differential equations are now used across the world in things such as: market economics, evolutionary biology, accounting, computing, politics, military theory, as well as others.
As stated before, Nash was born on June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He is the son of his father, John Nash Sr., an electrotecnician, and his mother, Virginia Martin, a language teacher. It is said that when he was a young boy he converted his room into a laboratory and spent much of his time experimenting and doing research.
Throughout his early school career, his parents would often push him to better his education. He would often receive books and encylopedias from his parents so that he could further expand his knowledge. During his final high school year his parents arranged for him to take advanced mathematics courses at a community college that was local to them.
Nash earned a full scholarship to the Carnegie Institute of Technology. After starting his college career with a major in chemical engineering, he later switched to chemistry and eventually mathematics. He later graduated with a bachelor of science in mathematics and a master of science in mathematics in 1948. After graduation he started his graduate studies at Princeton University.

The film was directed by Ron Howard and starred Russell Crowe, who portrayed Nash. The movie received criticism due to the inaccurate depiction of much of Nash’s life and schizophrenia.
Some of Nash’s recent work includes topics such as advanced game theory, mental illness, and psychology. Nash has been a guest speaker at a number of world-class events also he has received many honorary degrees from a number of institutions. In 2012 he became a member of the American Mathematical Society. He now is accepted as one of the greatest American mathematicians as well as one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Our nation had many great people who have changed our nation’s fate throughout the history. These people may not be remembered but have changed our nation’s direction. People like John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, John Adams, George Washington, and etc. were remembered. But a person like John Hancock, about 1/300 of the population of Unites States of America knows about him. Even though he is not remembered, John Hancock is one of the most extraordinary people who have change the fate of our nation.
In the completion of this computer tournament, Tit for Tat achieved the highest score against all other strategies and was proven to be the better strategy in the prisoners dilemma. According to Axelrod, there were four properties that will make a strategy successful. The first being the ability to cooperate as long as the opponent was willing to cooperate and this is turn would avoid unnecessary conflicts. The second being provocation by defecting once the other opponent has defected. Thirdly, forgiveness, whereas the player was able to revert back to cooperation after being provoking to their opponent. Lastly, allowing for the players strategies to be clearly understood to allow for the other player to recognize their plans and course of action as to adapt to this pattern. Other factors making Tit for Tat so successful was it was robust, thus having strength to beat all strategies that it came up against. Tit for Tat also had stability whereas it could not be invaded by any other strategies. Also Tit for Tat was viable in that it worked successfully amongst all other strategies. All other program strategies that did not possess these properties were unsuccessful.
In A Beautiful Mind, John Nash is a brilliant mathematician who goes to Princeton in order to receive his doctorate. After he proves Adam Smith wrong, his professor explains how he can have any placement he wants. So he ended up working for the United States government, becomes best friends with his roommate, falls in love with one of his students, and has some frustrating times. Unfortunately, some of the most important parts of his life turn out to be not real.

John Von Neumann was a very famous mathematician/ scientist whose work influenced theories and formulas we still use in the 21st century. He worked with many other influential mathematicians and scientists. His work influenced game theory, the quantum theory, automata theory, and defense planning. Von Neumann was a hard worker and was always working on new and old projects from when he began his career until the day he died.

The movie A Beautiful Mind, directed by Ron Howard, tells the story of Nobel Prize winner, and mathematician, John Nash’s struggle with schizophrenia. The audience is taken through Nash’s life from the moment his hallucinations started to the moment they became out of control. He was forced to learn to live with his illness and learn to control it with the help of Alicia. Throughout the movie the audience learns Nash’s roommate Charles is just a hallucination, and then we learn that most of what the audience has seen from Nash’s perspective is just a hallucination. Nash had a way of working with numbers and he never let his disease get in the way of him doing math. Throughout the movie the audience is shown how impactful and inspirational John Nash was on many people even though he had a huge obstacle to overcome.
