Math Hidden Faces Investigation
In this coursework I would be investigating the number of hidden faces
in different cubes and cuboids. I would provide predictions to make
sure I get the right results. After that I would provide diagrams of
the cubes and I would explain how I found it. In each section of a set
of cubes I would provide formula's that I would find. I would also
give information that the pattern carries on.
The reason why I am doing this investigation about cubes is because to
find the hidden faces and total faces which would be added near the
diagrams. I am going to increase one dimension at a time while holding
the other one the same. I will start by holding the width and the
height by one while increasing the depth by one.
Moving on to deeper investigation I would investigate cubes that have
more cubes and rows of cubes which would lead to more accurate
results. I would again provide total faces and hidden faces. The
reason why I would go into such deeper investigation is because to get
more information about the cubes with more of them and check if the
pattern carries on.
Overall of my coursework I would provide a lot of information about
what I have done and how I have done it. The rule that I must beware
of is if the hidden faces pattern changes in to a different number
that means that something is going wrong. Finally I will find formulas
for the nth term for the number of hidden faces for each particular
dimension. Hopefully, I will then try to find general formula for the
total numbers of hidden faces in any given cube/cuboids.

I have used a systematic approach when drawing the cubes and cuboids.
I started with smaller cubes and increased their size. I increased one
dimension at a time while holding the other two exactly the same. I
started off by holding the width and height by one while increasing

Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson have written a book that many people may find difficult to read. Why? Because it is like holding a mirror in front of one’s own face and looking into it. The book is about something most, if not all of us, have done: Justified our actions or words no matter how wrong they were. The use of first person allows the reader to gain insight on what Orual is thinking throughout the plot of the story, which helps the reader understand the actions Orual takes throughout the novel. For example, Orual’s thoughts when it was revealed that one of the daughter’s was the accursed were of anger. She thought that the king “had seen the arrow pointed at Psyche, had been afraid for her, fighting for her” (Lewis 54). This prompts Orual to sacrifice herself “to the brute instead of Istra” (Lewis 61). The story is told in media res. The narrator opens stating “I am old now” (lewis 3). The narrator continues on to tell her story through writing. Luke one day is just looking out of this little spot through his air conditioner, and he thinks he seen another face at his neighbor's house. Therefore when everybody at Luke’s house has vanished, he goes to his neighbor’s house. He breaks in her house and the alarm goes off. Face perception is when someone is able to analyze and interpret the face, mainly the human face. In this particular case, the perception is in regards to infants. Recognition is defined in a similar manner. It is when something has been previously seen or heard. Face perception during early infancy (Article 7) by Mondloch, Lewis, Budreau, Maurer, Dannemiller, Stephens, and Gathercoal does a great job explaining young infants face perception and recognition. In this article, the researchers decided to conduct an experiment on newborns, 6-week-olds, and 12-week-olds. They used a standardized method, which was called the Teller Acuity card procedure. This procedure was when an observer did not know what was presented each trial and tried to see if the infants preferred one of the stimuli, or cards, over another. There were five cards in total. Three were the experimental cards and two were the control, or tester, cards. For the experimental cards, one card consisted of a config and its inversion. A config is an outline of a head shape and it has three black dots inside the shape forming a set of eyes and mouth. The inversion is when the “config” is flipped upside down. The second card consisted of a spectrum of a face and its’ amplitude spectrum. The amplitude spectrum was like the opposite. It was a fuzzy spectrum and you couldn’t see a face. The third card consisted of a positive and negative contrast face. One of the faces was a positive contrast and the other face was a negative contrast. My personal code of ethics is comprised of virtues, principals, and one consequence. Many of the tenets presented in my code of ethics are interconnected. Additionally, most are principal-based statements that include underlying virtues. Furthermore, I provide one “don’t” statement, but all others are more positive in nature. I attempt to respect the following four tenets daily, as they reflect both my personal code of ethics, but also translate further into my professional code of ethics.
