Martin Luther King Jr. struggled to get peace, he went to jail for boycotting, and he wanted everyone one to be equal. During this time for him to get everyone to be equal, he has got threaten he has got bombed and he has went to jail plenty of times. I have researched alot of his struggles. They have told me alot of things that had happened throughout his journey. Today he is acknowledged for all of these things he has done. His birthday is now a holiday. During the month of February which is black history month he is acknowledged for all of the things he has done. Along with his black friends it took him an amount of time to get to where we are today. In the book Portraits of American Heroes i learned about all the times Martin Luther King has got thrown in jail for unnecessary reasons. On September 20, 1958, Martin Luther King was signing his newly published book at a Harlem deranged. A women at of no where started screaming and she plunged a knife into his chest. He survived this attack. He preached that racism individual and govnerment sponsored was ungodly. He once gave a speech about his well famous "I have a dream." In this book they gave special quotes and talked about it. This book also talked about all the things he has faced throughout his life. The Martin Luther King, Jr. book published in 2002 by Frady M. talked about everything that had happened on the bus boycott in Montgomery. In this book it gave in detail how and when his house got bombed. On January 3,1956 the Montgomery bus company had recommend that he had to pay double the amount of his bus fares. The day of January 24, 1956 the mayor demanded that whites stop driving black workers anywhere they went. January 27,1956 was the night of o... ... middle of paper ... ...ies. Martin had a white best friend when he was a kid. They got separated once they had to go to kindergarten. As kids they use to always play outside together but because of the racism they were not allowed to communicate and play with each other anymore. Not all of Martin's life was terrible on November 17 King's first child was born. On June 18, 1953 Dr. King married his lovely wife Coretta Scott in Marion, Alabama. February 18, 1957 was the day King appeared on the cover of Time Magazine. Ocotber 23, 1957 was the day hsi second child was born. He also had a thrid child that was born on March 28, 1963. In June of 1964 King's book Why We Can't was published. Even though King's life was filled with many tragicites, he never let anything stop him for doing some thing he belived in. He refused to let anyone bring him down and tell him he could not something.
