Dance can be defined as moving your body and doing steps depending on what type of dance form one is dancing on. Dance was created around 9,000 BCE in places of India. Many different types of dance forms include Tango, Cha-Cha-Cha, Sumba, Rumba, Bollywood, Salsa, Street Jazz, Disco, and Contemporary. Contemporary dance was found around the 20th century. An important figure in creating Contemporary dance form was Martha Graham. As of today contemporary still remains one famous dance form as it defines an, different type of dance as it, helps people embrace freedom, help people speak their emotions and also relive their stress. As previously mentioned, Contemporary dance is one of the new dance forms which still continues to be used today. According to marthagraham.org, a person who introduced contemporary dance was Martha Graham who lived between 1894-1891. She helped enhance language by the movement of body though emotions. He based his dance on the number 64, a Chinese idea as the number helped Merce develop his song (sayre 459). A website called mercecunningham.org states, in 1944, he also established the first solo dance performance. He choreographed about 150 dances with 800 different places. Merce established a more different chorography of contemporary, but similar to Martha in which he used a software in to develop dance moves.
